Should Women Be Silent in Church? A Discussion of 1 Corinthians 14:34-35
Показать описание
The Bible teaches that men and women are equal- intellectually equal, morally equal, and with equal capacity for leadership. But there are a few difficult and perplexing passages of the New Testament that seem to contradict the rest of the Bible’s treatment of women. In this video, I will discuss one of those difficult passages: 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, and offer some possible explanations for these aberrant verses.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 is often cited by prominent Christian leaders as evidence that women should not be teachers in the church. There is no textual support for the idea that women were silent participants in church gatherings. It is clear from Paul’s other writings, as well as other writings of the New Testament that women were serving as teachers, leaders, and even as apostles.
