Life during the Medieval times was rough, and having a happy fulfilling life was only for the rich and nobles. If you were a farmer you would do back breaking work, only to see the king tax your crops and leave you with scraps to feed your family. We are telling you, you wouldn't be able to handle it.

I always roll my eyes whenever I see most people romanticizing past ages and wish they lived back then. Yes, enjoy your poor medical, easily treated diseases, serfdom, peasantry, and misery(not counting survival experts though).

Living in modern day Scotland has given me an appreciation for how my ancestors had to survive. Winter lasts months, rain, gale force winds all the time, barely any sun.

I can't even imagine what it was like to live in parts of Russia/Scandinavia in these Medieval days.
