I had a complete hysterectomy and the Dr. doesn’t want to give me HRT because of finding endometriosis. My life has been turned upside down. No one prepared me at 45 being put into surgical menopause would be like. I’m surprised I’m still married. Finding you has made me feel not so crazy. I’m going to try these suggestions on food to help. Thank you for all you do. It’s sad we have to go research this stuff to know we’re not dying. Thank you again. ❤

Garlic is great. Every morning i chop 2 cloves finely and let it stand for a few minutes. Then I eat it raw with a squeeze of lemon on an empty stomach. You can’t imagine how it lowered my triglycerides and cholesterol level. I just knew its an estrogen boosting food, I will love daily dose of garlic even more.

Since I’ve been drinking my morning water the past month before I eat. The random waves of hot flashes have almost stopped. I’m considered perimenopause, I still get my period every month but it’s shortened to only 2.5 days. I mix 6 Oz of cloves and ginger infused filtered rain water with a tbsp of chia seeds, half a fresh squeeze lemon, a pinch of Himalayan sea salt and I top the jar off with 2 Oz of organic low sugar kombucha. Healing my micro biome was crucial to restoring my hormone levels. I think leaning towards a plant based whole food diet, those of us suffering can reduce the suffering and minimize our symptoms.

I am going through perimenopause symptoms right now and I am 46 and I refuse to take HRT for my symptoms for the fear of developing breast cancer, strokes and blood clots. So I am trying to cut out refined sugar, sodium, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, eat more lentils, more kidney beans, more black beans, more chick peas. more tofu, more soy products, drink plenty of water, drink herbal teas, limit caffeine...I have been a vegetarian all my life and I don't eat any meat, I don't drink alcohol and I don't smoke... So, I hope that my perimenopause symptoms and menopause won't be too bad

Great tips Kari. Thank you so much. Just a comment regarding flax seeds. They are wonderful and yes the nutrients are more easily absorbed by the body if they are ground. However they tend to go rancid very quickly once they are ground, even if stored in the refrigerator. I buy my flax seeds in the whole form and grind them just before use. 😉

Fish oil help with the hot flashes, I discovered this my mistake was taking fish oil for the omega 3, 6, and I stopped taking it for about two weeks and the hot flashes hit me like a train. Therefore, I did my research and learned it does help!

I eat raw nuts, I have lost a ton of weight and no longer have the menopause tummy. The fats in nuts are healthy fats.

I ran out of flaxseed, and I have not used it in years. I’m so glad you mentioned this in your video. So glad I came across this video. I will be running out to get my berries which I use in my smoothies. I start it by soymilk again, organic soy milk. I love sesame seeds on my salads and I never knew that I was eating these estrogen, rich foods, so that would explain why I was not experiencing so much discomfort. Thank you so much I really appreciate it.

Purchase whole flax and grind it yourself, pre ground is often rancid. Whole soybeans give the most power according to Dr Bernard

Just a reminder that if you buy whole flaxseed you can easily gring it a little at a time using the 'milling' blade on your Nutribullet. I do a small pot for the week, takes 2 mins.

Garlic also knocks a cold out fast when taken within the first 3 days.

Kari, you're both entertaining and informative. I'm 66 and two years ago I had to stop my HRT because my uterine lining was getting too thick, which can lead to cancer. Two years later and I'm still dealing with occasional hot flashes and temperature dysregulation. As a naturally athletic woman, I've exercised most of my life and after I stopped the HRT, I started pulling muscles right and left. I have hip pain on both sides and my knees are breaking down. Increasing my power walking speed resulted in abdominal tendonitis, which is painful and takes months to heal. I'm definitely going to try flaxseed, although I expect it to be somewhat pricey as a regular part of one's diet.
