Euro NCAP performs a series of crash tests on each model tested:
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid barrier
- an offset frontal impact test, 40% of the width of the car is striking a deformable barrier
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door

A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled.

Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking systems (car to car, with a pedestrian and a cyclist target), lane support and speed assist technologies and seatbelt reminders.

It`s a very, very nice to drive. It had the 2018 model with a 1.0 engine that pleasantly surprised me. I did not expect it to be such a reliable and good engine. I went on holidays, exceptional cornering stability, exceptional braking. And so on Now I have an ST which is very, very good.

Notice how the rear occupant totally misses the headrest on the rebound at 0:32. This can cause some severe neck strain/ injury

Why EuroNCAP doesn't do the small overlap test from IIHS? Isn't that the best test to verify a car strength?

Did they stiffen the Suspension Setup for this Test? Very little up and down movment for a basic configuration.

2 questions:
1 why they are doing side test @50 km/h and pole test @ 32 km/h ? Because in real life you don't have the choice, I think that no car can resist a pole test at 50 km/h which make this test pretty useless.
Q2 why do they test whiplash test @24 km/h? In real life if you hit a car in the front of you it means that the car in the front of you receive the same energy, then the whiplash test should be done @ 64km/h, maybe because the trunk structure absorb a higher than the front??!? Not sure but euroncap is doing a great job and save thousands of life each year

I feel like they do this tests in very low speeds, real life accidents happen in much higher speeds, why don't they try 80 or 90 km/h tests
