Euro NCAP performs a series of safety tests on light commercial vehicles:
Active safety is tested based on the van’s equipment: Autonomous Emergency Braking systems (car-to-car, pedestrian, and cyclist scenarios), lane support and speed assist technologies, and occupant status monitoring (attention assist and seatbelt reminders).

Dacia/Renault decides to remove the radar and rely on the camera for breaking just like Tesla, but a low-resolution camera fails at night striking a pedestrian at 1:34! I get they didn't have a budget for HD parking cameras, but seriously front camera needs to have a bigger sensor for low-light environments if you decide to remove the radar.

From what i've seen on their site, it had ok-ish ratings on everything except the "Safety assist" bullshit which consists on the car whining about the backseat passenger seatbelt, speed assistant and lane support. Fucks sake man, this car is already pretty expensive and all of these extra sensors would just add more to the manufacturing cost. 10+ years old cars don't have that either but they got a better score because those requirements didn't exist back then. How the hell can you have so many expectations for a low cost suv?

Disappointing considering the price hike. Personally I was expecting 4* but what surprised me the most is the rather low adult ocupant safety rating.
PS.I ordered one last month 😅

Slab slab, pentru 19k euro pret de baza sa fie doar 70% scor pt ocupanti… macar arata bine. Ca idee cu modelele vechi in accidente mai serioase mor toti, verificati ziarele. Testele astea sintetice refleca doar o idee. In realitate accidentele mai ales in Romania sunt la niste viteze mult mai mari. Drumuri bune!

Apart from the neck of the 10 year dummy in the frontal test, protection of which was adequate, the Duster provided good protection of all
critical body areas for both child dummies in the frontal offset and side barrier impacts. The front passenger airbag can be disabled to
allow a rearward-facing child restraint to be used in that seating position. Clear information is provided to the driver regarding the status of
the airbag and the system was rewarded. The Duster has no child presence detection system. All of the child restraint types for which the
Duster is designed could be properly installed and accommodated in the car.

EVERYONE has to bear in mind that cost-efficacy is the primary ethos of Dacia, the safety rating is a direct reflection of the passive and active safety that is offered as standard (they rarely test optional safety equipment) and a LOT of active safety tech can end up being REALLY expensive, which drives up the price of the car itself
