The very fact that Christ was crucified argues against any form of good works saving a sinner....love it.

I have studied the "CoC" history. The explanation of the use of "for" you give is very revealing. It's a great way using Scripture in the surrounding text to awnser Acts 2:38. They teach - hear, believe, repent, confess, and be baptized. They teach you contact the blood when your baptized. When my oldest brother in-law was dying in the hospital, , my "CoC" bro in-law and I were walking to his car; he said "all he's has left now is the blood." I just kelp silent. He knew I didn't believe that. You gave me more amo to awnser with. Thanks for the usage of "for" in the surrounding 1st 4 chapters. There teach that the word "for" in Acts 2:38 means "in order to obtain."

One "C O C" minister on U - Tube said, "how do you know the thief on the cross was not baptized before he was crucified". Odd; Jesus saved him while hanging on the cross.

Matthew 3:11, does that mean that baptism in water disappeared after John? No, it doesn't Acts 8:36-39, Acts 10 47-48.
