This is exactly right. This is what I have been trying to tell others for quite some time now. Many believe that the water saved Noah’s family. No! What saved Noah’s family was Noah trusting in God In order to build the ark. The ark was how Noah was saved. The water was what Noah had to go through. But the water that the ark went through did not save Noah. His faith in God did

1Pe 3:18  For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Which of the Two Baptisms is required for salvation?

Water baptism was a part of the Old Covenant system of ritual washing. The Old Covenant priests had to wash before beginning their service in the temple. When Christ was water baptized by His cousin John in the Jordan River, He was under the Old Covenant system. He also only ate certain foods, as prescribed by the Old Covenant. Christ was water baptized by John and then received the Holy Spirit from heaven. The order is reversed in the New Covenant. A person receives the Holy Spirit upon conversion, and then believers often declare their conversion to their friends and family through a New Covenant water baptism ceremony.

The conversion process is described below.

Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

(A person must “hear” the Gospel, and “believe” the Gospel, and will then be “sealed” with the Holy Spirit.)

Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says?
What did Peter say below?

Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water when they read the word "baptize" in the text.

Based on the above, what is the one baptism of our faith found in the passage below? How many times is the word "Spirit" found in the passage, and how many times is the word "water" found in the passage?

Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (See 1 Cor. 12:13)

“baptize” KJV

Mat_3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Mar_1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Water or Holy Spirit?, See Eph. 1-13.)

Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (See Eph. 4:1-5)

Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. (Old Covenant - New Covenant)

How many people have been saved by the Old Covenant water baptism of John the Baptist?

Who did John the Baptist say is the greatest Baptist that ever lived in Luke 3:16? What kind of New Covenant baptism comes from Christ?

New Covenant water baptism is a beautiful ceremony which allows new believers to declare their conversion to the whole world.

I agree that "baptism saves us" through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

A lot of confusion among believers concerning baptism involves the fact that there are two baptisms that make up the one baptism that saves us, water and Spirit baptisms.
The Word says that there is, " One Lord, one faith, and one baptism"(Eph.4:5, 6). Paul speaks of the " doctrine of baptisms"( Heb.6:2).

Repentance and water baptism for the remission of sins cleanses the temple
of our body's as the result of the shed blood of Christ. It is the" washing of regeneration"( Titus 3:5-7).
During water baptism the Holy Spirit circumcises our conscience, removing the guilt from past sins, and restoring it to its original childlike sensitivity to sin. The word " regeneration" means to return something to its' original state. This is what Jesus meant when He said that we must become as little children or we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven ( Matt.18:3). The only way that this possible is to restore our childlike innocence which is the guilt associated with sin.
Water baptism under the new covenant is the antitype of the old covenants type of cleansing the temple.
Holy Spirit baptism is the Holy Spirit occupying the cleansed temple of our bodies. It is also the " renewing of spirit"( Eph.4:23).
The Holy Spirit will not enter an unclean temple.

Why doesn’t it (in ALL baptism verses) say that it “signifies”??
Never once does the Bible say that baptism is JUST a symbol/declaration. The Bible indicates that it is the means of entrance. Acts 2:38, John 3:5, Rom 6:1-5.
Seriously? JUST A SYMBOL? I think not. It’s like everybody just twists and turns to somehow make baptism less meaningful than it is.

And I must clarify. Just getting in water, just a sacrament, will not save. It is the faith behind it that does. In that moment we declare our trust in Jesus’ DBR by also dying, being buried, and being resurrected. It is the appeal. The crying out to God. It is obeying the gospel. Of course, is there faith? Is there repentance? Those save.

You know what then it would’ve been useless for Jesus Christ die on the cross and rise again if water baptism could

1 Peter 3:21 "....baptism, which now saves you through the resurrection of Jesus Christ" - Rom 6 and Col 2:12 say that baptism "immerses" you into Jesus' resurrection which is what Peter is referring to in 1 Peter 3:21. And to be "raised with Christ" is another way of saying "regenerated." A regenerated person is going to live a righteous life which is attended by a good conscience as Peter mentions here and which will "testify" to God in the final judgement (Rom 2). Further, baptism washes away past sins which also provides for a clean conscience. So we have complete provision for our conscience - both past sins committed as well as for the future by living an obedient life going forward. Paul's emphasis is on how baptism saves a person from the power of sin while Peter here is focused on how baptism "births" a righteous person which God will deliver into His eternal kingdom just like Jesus was admitted to God's presence after his resurrection because he was righteous.

You did good, but to add, the Baptism itself or agency is the quickening of the Spirit...

One is given the Spirit, made alive by it....and continually made alive by it.

If you are alive a s you know it...would not that give you a clear God...

For the Spirit is the earnest deposit
It was given as a pledge of our inheritance

Yes, baptism saves you. That's what one must believe before he gets baptized (Mk 16:15-16; Acts 2:38; 22:16; Rom. 6:3-8; Gal. 3:26-27; 1 Pet. 3:20-21)

As a Presbyterian, I believe that baptism saves, not in the sense of baptismal regeneration in the Lutheran or Catholic view, nor do I believe that water baptism saves. But there is a sign and a thing signified, meaning, while water baptism doesn’t save, baptism of the Holy Spirit does. However, the thing baptism signifies is not always tied to the moment it is administered. When someone is baptized, it doesn’t mean their saved. But the promises given in baptism do save, they are salvation promises. Baptism is not something I do, but something God does.

Through Baptism we are justified. God sanctifies. That is what Peter is saying. We present ourselves as a holy and acceptable sacrifice. Without the washing away of sins, are souls are just as dirty. In other words, God looks at us directly and not through Christ. And since man cannot save himself then the man/woman that is baptized is destined for Hell.

Secondly, Christ commanded us to be baptized for the remission of our sins in Acts 2:38.

here is another question to consider: why do people make their appeal to God to be saved without the water: "unless a man is born of water and spirit he can not enter into the Kingdom of God.

Nobody who believes that baptism is more than just an "outward sign of an inward grace" is focused on scrubbing their skin with Dove soap while they're being baptized. They're focused on trusting God to raise them from spiritual death because of and through the death, burial. and resurrection of Jesus.

So, the efficacy of baptism is Christ and faith in Him, rather than just a normal bath on a normal day, but the fact remains that real baptism is in water, and Peter says real baptism SAVES you.

Romans 6:1-6 --- dying with Christ, being buried with Him, and being raised with him to new life through baptism.
Colossians 2:11-12 --A spiritual circumsicion of the heart done by God through faith at baptism
Galatians 3:36 "sons of God through faith, FOR as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ."

You dont have to, and you should not seperate faith and baptism.

Baptism is connected to repentence, calling on the name of the Lord, and of course faith.

"And now, why do you wait? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord!" Said to Saul

Scripture nowhere says baptism is a "symbol" or "picture" or "signifies" or is an "identification, " etc, etc. Scripture does say baptism does several things which anyone can look up but apparently are blind to.

Jesus said to the man on the cross next to him "today you will be with me in paradise". (Luke Chapter 23 Verse 43). Had this man been water baptized???
Baptism happens because someone has been saved. Baptism doesn't save.
The forthcoming coronation will not make Charles the King. Charles became the King when his mother - Queen Elizabeth the Second - died. The coronation is happening because Charles is now the King.
A coronation for William or George would be nonsense as neither of them are King.

Baptism in water, in the Name of Jesus is essential (not optional) for salvation! You must be baptized in the Name of Jesus!! Do not fall for this false doctrine!

I find it odd that you only use 2 verses to determine your doctrine. 1: Baptism is NOT a requirement for Salvation. John 3:36 " He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." KJV- Believing is required, not Baptism. John 5:24 "“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” -KJV- Hearing and believing, not Baptism. Baptism is actually a 'work' on our part. Jesus does it all. John 6:47 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” -KJV- Again, Baptism is NOT Salvific. Was the thief on the cross baptized? Enoch that walked with God? Elijah? No? John 3:15 “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” -KJV- John 3:18 “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” -KJV- Once again, BELIEVE ! Acts 16:31 “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” -KJV- BELIEVE.

I could go on and on. People, don't take my word for it, actually pick up your Bible and do your own research. Never rely on one verse to declare a doctrine.
