Whoever is reading this know that you are going to make it through these evil days. You have fought and won battles that are much dangerous than this. If you survived last time you will be victorious this time too

I was seconds away from being murdered in december 2015. This happened while I was an atheist. I went on to be pagan for 5 years, but on 9.12.21, Im going to be baptized. Praise God, Im so grateful I was allowed to live long enough to find God

Everyone who scrolls down please ask yourself “what is the Gospel”? Before you think that baptism is necessary to be saved.
Baptism is an outward action based on an inward reality. Baptism is a testimony that the person has trusted in Christ as Savior.

Romans 4:5

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Here's my take: Jesus alone can get you into His presence in heaven. Nothing else matters including baptism. A baptism is a physical act. There are no earthly acts that will share the same level of importance as believing in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Nothing.

Your point about the thief on the cross is incorrect. They were still under the old law at that time and Jesus, being God, had all authority to save the thief.

1Peter 3:21 “we are now saved through baptism”.

Baptism is clearly a commandment of God (Matthew 28) and not an option, and obedience to commandment is necessary to Salvation (John 14:15). The Thief has been saved prior to the effectivity of the new covenant (Heb 9:17). The better covenant is not yet in effect whilst the testator is still alive. Baptism is a sign of the new covenant. Therefore, the thief is an exemption to this matter.

Baptism of the spirit is what Jesus did on the cross. What you do at your local church is just a public confession of your faith, nothing more than that.

I love Frank and his ministry, but I believe he makes a logical error, inferring something from 1 Cor 1:17 that isn't actually logically implied.

Paul makes a distinction between baptizing and preaching the gospel. Note the verbs: baptize, and preach. Paul's distinction doesn't logically imply that baptism is not a part of the gospel message. It only implies that preaching the gospel and baptizing people are not the same thing. The notion that baptism is part of the gospel and even that it is necessary for salvation is perfectly consistent with that distinction, as is the notion that it isn't.

Given that the context was, as he points out, folks making a deal about who baptized them, it's possible that Paul's point is that his role was to be the guy sharing the gospel not to be the one doing the baptizing, and that by extension focusing on the person doing the baptizing is misguided. Is that the correct interpretation? That's a larger discussion. And even if it is, it doesn't show that baptism is essential or part of the gospel, since that interpretation is consistent with both views on baptism. But in any event, Paul's words here do not logically imply that baptism isn't part of the gospel. So it isn't a slam dunk when combined with Romans 1:16.

Completely agree here.

I get why some may try and argue over whether Baptism saves or doesn't save, but to me it's a pretty clear answer. Who is going to be in charge of my salvation by the end of my life? God, or a preacher that dunked me underwater many years ago?

Salvation comes from believing in Christ. If you've believed in Christ, spread His Word, and lived by those Words all your life, should you really deserve to go to hell because someone completely outside of God didn't put you underwater at some point before your death?

Baptism should be that symbolic step a Christian takes at some point in their life, but making it a mandatory thing for Salvation is just wrong.

When Peter visits the house of Cornelius in Acts, he preaches the Gospel and WHILE he was still speaking, the Holy Spirit fell on Cornelius and his household because they believed. It was then that Peter said they should be baptized. Paul tells us in his epistles that when we are sealed by the Holy Spirit, we are saved. This illustrates the principle: one hears the Gospel, believes it, is sealed by the Holy Spirit and saved, then, as an act of obedience, NOT a salvific work, a believer should be baptized in water.

The only thing I’m uncertain of with what Dr. Turek said, is that in Acts after the Holy Spirit fell, Peter said to those who wanted to know what they needed to do to be saved to “repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” and that the promise of that was onto them and to all who are far off and as many as God may call to it. That wasn’t a one time thing then made obselete. Plus Jesus himself was baptized to provide the example to follow. So yes baptism is the not the primary component of salvation, but to say it is not at least involved within the process would be at the least contradictory. Yes Paul’s mission was not to baptize, yet he still did it and talked of its value. John the Baptist’s mission was to baptize and make the way, and Jesus “baptizes with fire” (Holy Spirit). So the pathway of both water and spiritual baptism was already set, all Paul and the Disciples had to do was preach the Gospel and lead people through the path. I’m not saying this to make accusations or cause divisions, just trying to shed a little more insight. God Bless

And yet Peter summed up the Gospel in Acts 2:
Repent and be baptized.
Again in his epistles he says, these waters (of the flood) symbolizes baptism which now saves you.
And by technicality Jesus said, whoever believes and is baptized will be saved...

I’m a huge fan of Dr. Turek, although I *strongly* disagree with his scriptural position here. Scripture and church history very clearly teaches baptismal regeneration until the Swiss reformation ( Huldrych Zwingli) in the 16th century, whom argued against sins being washed away in baptism). Not even going to get into the history of the Gnostics and Anabaptists either.

Anything that gets me thinking more about God and Scripture are still blessings, and God Bless Dr. Turek for his many wonderful videos and comments.

Great video, thanks for expounding on that truth. And I'm glad to see that young man really wanting to learn and grow in ministry.

Like a mentor of mine often says,
"If you're getting in this water without having genuinely put your trust in Jesus, you're just getting wet."

If Baptism can potentially be the basis for someone going to Hell instead of Heaven then God should have really made the point more clear.

Most of us commenting here are most likely under some sort of lockdown or isolation. So trying to get baptized to proclaim your faith before corona virus gets you would be kind of hard right now, wouldn't it? Most people think, faith + works = savation. But, faith = salvation + works. We are saved by faith alone through grace alone.
