When most people hear about full body workouts, they usually think of beginners.

While it’s true that full body workouts are suitable for gym newbies, they can be extremely beneficial for intermediate and advanced lifters too.

Just take a look at Arnold. Although he did split routines, he built a massive amount of muscle using full body workouts.

So why do so many people think full body workouts can’t work past the beginner stage?

In this video, I’m going to show you clear evidence that you can skyrocket your gains with full body workouts, even if you’re not new to the gym.

when i switch to full body 5x week, I saw a whole new level of gains, a more athletic and symmetrical physique and overall the most interesting workout out of all the splits. Love it, I feel much stronger and more dense muscle.

I did a full body workout five days a week for over a year in my late twenties (ten years ago), had the best results I'd ever seen (started lifting regularly at 12). I do full body 3 times a week now.

Currently I am doing full body workout 6 days a week since a month. My body has changed drastically. I am pumbed up like a frog. Apart form workouts I am also focusing on my macros.

I recently shifted from 5 sets three times a week (Mon/Wed/Fri) to 3 sets five times a week (all weekdays, with the weekend being a rest period). I'm seeing better results, and find that three sets a day is far easier to sustain than 5 sets every two days.

I tried full-body 5x a week before this whole quarantine thing and it was amazing. I definitely recommend it.

It just makes sense. If you do one or two reps of push ups and pull ups 6 times a week(mon-sat) your gonna be consisntently getting stronger because your doing it nearly everyday. Just like if your a brick layer or laborer who works 5-6 days a week every week humping those bricks it won't take very long to get really strong. I don't understand why you don't see more weightlifters and stuff as brick layers?

Perfectly said! Thanks
I am 50 and this is what I do 3 to 4 a week and I look as good as I did in my 20s. Some guy wouldn't believe when I let em know my age.

Full body 4 to 6 times a week for about 6 months now. Seen wayyy better gains than before. Recover just fine, and if I feel like I'm not recovered enough I just skip the day.

I've been a fan of full body workouts since I started doing them last fall. I never worked out on a regular basis before November, 2019, but I started with a pair of 8-pound dumbbells. I worked out for 15 to 20 minutes every day, depending on how tired I would get. Thanks to videos like this one and others on YouTube, I've been able to expand my routine and improve my physical stature in the process. Today, I am using 15-pound dumbbells and my own body weight during my workouts, which last between 45 and 55 minutes. I usually do 10 or 11 different exercises when I work out, covering 4 sets. I try to do 12 repetitions when I'm using weights and 15 on the exercises where I just use my body weight. I can't do most of the exercises that are demonstrated in many of these workout videos, but the ones I can do have been most beneficial. Finding the best schedule has been the trickiest part for me. Currently, I work out on two consecutive days and rest on the third day, and that seems to have helped on my recovery a great deal.

2:02 made my day - I'm back on full body 3x a week now and I'm not as fatigue as I was on my 6 day split. But all in all you're just rearranging your volume across the week. The end results are quite the same. Some things might get you there 2-3% faster but that's it

I am mid-fifties and have worked out pretty consistently since my teens. In the past 5 years I have maintained fairly well but not a lot of bang for my buck doing split routines at rep ranges 5-10. In the past 6 months I’ve done full body 6X/week and 3 sets legs, push/pull and core. I also do sprints, plyos, lateral agility and med ball throws one time a week each. The rep ranges are more 10-15 and I am noticing muscle growth for the first time in years and improved performance when playing hockey and racquet sports. Also it is time efficient. In and out in under 30 minutes as I super set push, pull, legs and core. Change the variations daily.

Great video and informative! I love full-body workouts and it's crazy how underrated they are. Great to see them get some attention!

I've tried just about every split in the book since starting my lifting journey. Did FB x3, PPL, U/L, and of course, the trusty Bro split. Eventually, I decided to give full body 5x a shot since I did like the idea of hitting something hard for only 3 sets in a single session (totaling 15 sets for the week). After day 1 I remember thinking "okay there's no way I'm going to be able to hit this muscle 4 more times this week" but much to my surprise, after a couple days, the soreness no longer was an issue. I did have to adjust the reps I was doing because for stuff like bench and squat I was doing 5's which I think is a tad too heavy when using high frequency like this. Ultimately I landed on doing everything for 10 reps each set. Nice and simple. Dude. The amount of growth I saw switching to a plan like this even though volume was equated to what I was doing on the other splits was pretty crazy. I never was a believer in frequency because the science typically says volume equated it's all the same, but man, that wasn't the case for me. Perhaps it was due to the fact that while I was still doing 15 sets a week for each muscle, you could argue the 15 sets on FB x5 are higher quality. I also saw a benefit of moving the workout to later in the day just before dinner as I tended to eat my largest and calorically dense meals for dinner rather than lunch which was the meal I was having after working out in the late morning like I previously did. All in all, I'm a huge fan and still train this way, though the routine has gotten very individualized for me depending on which muscles I'm focusing on and how they each respond to what I give em. I'm surprised more people don't try this out! I should mention that since Covid I train from home now so that also makes things A LOT easier. Don't think I'd be able to do this still training in a commercial gym. Workouts would take a couple hours at a minimum just waiting for equipment to be available.

I like to do full-body -- I can leave the gym "tired" but not over-taxed in any one muscle group.
Once I got good at this every other week I do two-a-days -- 1/2 normal load morning + full load evening with morning going harder in one upper body area and in evening going harder in lower body (usually leg press or next week back to one-a-day.
3 times per quarter I do heavy splits.
2 months every year I do bodyweight and mobility.
stretch 3 days per week -- 15000 steps as many days in a row as I can, as long as my feet don't kill me the next day

I used to train arms everyday, 3 sets of 25 with around 40 lbs curls, and my arms were more dense and had better growth than just training them twice a week
