Advances in technology have made Hernia surgery and post-procedural recovery extremely time saving and hassle-free. A laparoscopic hernia surgery takes about 45-minutes to one hour and you can walk back home from the hospital in just 24 hours following the procedure. Interestingly, you can resume daily activities in one to two days. In this video, Dr Deepak Subramaniam shares with us how easy and fast it is to recover after a Hernia surgery. Hear him out and make an informed choice!

Doctor also mention the wilderness of hernia and the seriousness. My insurance agent felt like I should have discharged from hospital the next day after surgery as was in law but mine was so large that I had to stay in hospital for 5 days with continuous medication which was really required for my recovery. Thanks to my surgeon who clearly explained them how life threatening was mine and at last they accepted the claim.
All the videos I go through says you can go back to work soon but never explain to what extent the hernia should be. I am required bed rest for 2 months, only allowed is walking and climbing stairs. Otherwise definitely going to recurring. Also there is possibility of complications with mesh which is permanent in my case.

Sorry Doc, I disagree. Have to ask you if you had open surgery done to you? In any event, I had open bilateral inguinal/mesh surgery. I was in severe pain for a week, meaning I had a very hard time shifting my body around while lying down and trying to get up from a lying position was insanely painful. It took 3 weeks before I felt I could deal with the pain for more than a hour. Walking was much easier, but tiring. Everyone is different, and hernias are different. Mesh sucks and hurts. Feels like I got a large stone in my groin. 2 different doctors from different practices looked at the incision and for any swelling for rejection, but said all looks good just hang in there. 4 weeks today and I am starting to feel only moderate pain while sitting in chairs. I've read lots of studies on both sides of the argument of positives and negatives they're conflicting as far as successful %'s and length of time in years for problems associated with mesh insertions. Seems studies are biased due to company's who make the mesh and the groups that are either representing those companies or not.

Whatever his explained is not correct.
The first two weeks are crucial and we can't resume the work until we complete the 2 weeks of time.
