I was raised protestant and am a Catholic convert. Loving Mary has deepened my faith in Christ exponentially

Jesus Christ is our only intercessor.

Hebrews 7:25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Why do we have to ask Mary and the saints to intercede for us when we have Jesus Christ as the only mediator between God and men? ‭‭(1 Timothy‬ ‭2:5‬)

Asking other believers (on earth) to pray for us is certainly biblical (2 Corinthians 1:11; Ephesians 1:16; Philippians 1:19; 2 Timothy 1:3). The apostle Paul asks other Christians to pray for him in Ephesians 6:19.
BUT the Bible nowhere mentions anyone asking someone in heaven to pray for him or her. The Bible nowhere describes anyone in heaven praying for anyone on earth and gives absolutely no indication that Mary or the saints can hear our prayers. Mary and the saints are not omniscient. Even glorified in heaven, they are still finite beings with limitations.
Whenever the Bible mentions praying to or speaking with the dead, it is in a negative context involving activities the Bible strongly condemns (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10–13; 1 Samuel 28:7–19).
Praying to Mary or the saints is completely different from asking a friend here on earth to pray for us. Asking people on earth to pray for us has a strong biblical basis; asking the heavenly saints or Mary to pray has no biblical basis whatsoever.

Why would you use Mary as an intermediary when you can go directly to Christ? Jesus even knows your prayer and needs before you even ask. Philippians 4:5 let your requests be made known to God; Matthew 6:6 Jesus says- go to your room, close the door and pray to your Father; while Steven is being stoned, he sees Jesus on the right hand of the Father and talks to Him., Paul says to call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and Jesus gives us The Lords Prayer and there are so many more examples. Direct, a straight line, is what the Bible shows us.
And I’m not saying that you should not pray for others because we all should but my prayer for someone else is direct to God.

I would ask my friends to pray for me....but not my dead friends. Paul nor Peter never gives this instruction either.

If you look at the bloodline of David, Mary and Joseph were his descendants,

David was called a man after God's own heart because he loved God's Law.

Then why do you not consider David and Joseph
Even Jesus said when He was told His mother and Brothers are looking for you, He said, here is my mother and here is my brother's pointing to His disciples

Jesus considered all who do the Will of His Father as his mother and Brothers. Mary was bound to Jesus because she was His mother, but she knew what His purpose was

The questions isn't do we worship Mary or pray through her.... the question is why do pray to marry. She was amazing but you must realize that Mary does not hear us. There is nothing in scripture that tells us she should be used to intercede. The Bible does say that we have a direct line to The Lord and no need to have a relay communication. Also Jesus said to let the dead bury the dead. Focus on God Mary has passed and has no ears to hear you. No scripture says that she was given special abilities to intercede. Search in your heart.

Mary lived a perfect life? Doesn’t that make her equal to God?

I'll give you two reasons why Protestants don't ask before accusing 1. Paul Simon's "The Boxer" 1968ish? first stanza last two lines - "Man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest" and 2. Will Rogers - "it isn't what you know that gets you in trouble, but, what you think you know that just isn't so".

I'm a practicing catholic I do not pray to mary . I ask Mary. To talk to her son Jesus Christ when I'm having a problem. So I'm not directly praying to Mary. I'm asking her to talk to her son Jesus Christ. For help when I'm having a problem?

I don't understand we would pray to Mary as an intercessor when scripture never advices us to but clearly states that Jesus is our great intercessor and through Jesus we pray to our heavenly Father what I don't understand is why we need an intercessor to pray to our intercessor? We pray to God in Jesus name and not in Mary's name. According to the Bible.

There is no verse we should pray to Mary.

Only Jesus can intercede to our prayers.

We should only give respect to Mary to be the most blessed women in the world.

The idea that God chose Mary to conceive the Son of God in her womb is indeed a profound and central aspect of the Christian faith. It signifies a great blessing on her, as she became a vessel for God's ultimate purpose of salvation on earth. However, it is crucial to differentiate between acknowledging Mary's role in the divine plan and worshiping her.

It is undeniable that Catholics worship Mother Mary. Just to escape arguments, they often say we don't worship; instead, we pray to Mary for intercession. Just look into the Bible and see that this contradicts the biblical teaching of worshiping God alone. The presence of a statue of Mother Mary inside the church and the act of bowing down to them, as well as burning candles in front of them, are cited as examples of what appears to be worship.

The question that arises is whether such practices align with the teachings and actions of Jesus and his disciples, especially after his death and resurrection. It is notable that there is no explicit biblical evidence of the disciples engaging in similar acts of veneration toward Mary or any other figures. The emphasis in the Bible seems to be on worshiping God directly.

Don't you think that such practices might stray from the fundamental commandments of God? Isaiah 45:5 says, "I am the LORD, and there is none else; there is no God beside me." And any practices that may appear to elevate Mary to divine status could be seen as potentially conflicting with this command.
*AND IT'S A SIN AGAINST GOD... REPENT*

Mary doesn't hear your prayers and would be appalled that anyone would pray to her or treat her like she is some sort of sinless deity. I have been in Catholics houses that have huge alters to Mary which they pray to with candles. It's literally pagan worship and is so sad to see from people who call themselves Christians.

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" 1 Timothy 2:5
What will it take for Catholics to believe the RCC is corrupt?
My ancestors left when the pope sold tickets to heaven for profit.
The pope now blesses "same-sex unions." Where is your line in the sand?

I get the intercession thing but why not to just pray to Jesus directly? He is the God, he loves us so why not? I get that she's the mother of God and that's very special thing but I see many Catholics having more icons of Mary than Jesus, praying to Mary more than praying directly to Jesus and I just find it very strange. Not to mention that Mary seems to be doing miracles and interventions and revealing herself (according to devout Catholics) all around the world too which is very Goddess like behavior... Not being snarky just genuinely confused.

I think many of the problems with any beliefs arise when we try to Read something into the Scripture that isn't there.. You need follow the Teaching of Christ and and there are the Epistles to deepen your understanding about the Work of Christ.. None of them even hint of any other deity/Medeator other than Christ.. If it was of any importance i am sure it would have been mentioned in the Scripture... Why not leave our differences aside and focus on what Scripture has to say
