OK, why do Catholics pray to Mary when she is dead? The only one that we should pray to is God Almighty.

The STATUES speak for themselves! Duh! Its IDOLATRY!

Roman Catholics ignore the 2nd Commandment as well, and do worship Mary by praying to her for supernatural help as they need it and this is, of course, another Gospel.

Jesus never prayed to Abraham
Jesus never prayed to Moses
Jesus never prayed to Isaac
Jesus never prayed to Jacob

Mary was flawed
Jesus is the one Mediator

I wish they allowed their congregation to read the Bible instead of seeking them for their food.

I have a friend who is Catholic, and he became upset with me when I told him Catholicism puts too much emphasis on Mary, among other things.

Once every Roman Catholic begins with:

“Hail Mary..”

That's worship and idolatry because their attention isn't upon God but a created thing He created.

There is only one intercessor between God and Man, Jesus Christ. It is idolatry to pray through Mary. Christ intercedes for us, not Mary.

I don't how they not call it worshipping when it is clear that their ways of showing "veneration" to mary is much more worship-y than how the israelites worshipped the golden calf.

They absolutely do. Pray for them that they may be free from their apostasty.

You should have exposed the things they say to her in some of those prayers. Calling it "veneration" rather than worship is just a loophole to get past the first and second commandment. Besides. Veneration means worship. If it looks like a duck, quack like a duck, walk like a duck, then it 's a duck.

ST. POPE JOHN PAUL II: Christ’s role as mediator is at a “much higher level than those of the saints in the Old or New Testament, and even the most Holy Virgin Mary, when one speaks of their mediation or invokes their help. ‘For there is one God and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all.’ (1 Tim 2:5-6)”

At every Catholic Church I've been to, there's a room outside of the Church where people go to pray to a statue of Mary.

Jesus himself didn't warrant Mary another more respect than any other human. He honored her as his Mother yes, but when told his Mother and brothers were looking for him he offered her no higher ranking than any other in the kingdom. Source here is Matthew 12:47-50. God bless.

Praying to Mary is worship whether you realize it or not.

Catholic doctrine says Mary is comediator with Jesus between God and man. That's worship whether you realize it or not.

The official answer may be "We don't worship Mary" but this is very deceptive. Think of the many titles given to Mary. She is called the Queen of heaven even though the only time that title appears in the Bible (Jeremiah 7 and Jeremiah 44) it is in reference to a pagan goddess. She is called "Mediatrix" even though the Bible is clear that there is only "one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 2:4. Just think about it logically. If only 10% of the billion Roman Catholics worldwide were praying all at once that would be 100, 000, 000 or one hundred million prayers to hear and process and communicate to God. Only an omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent being could do that. No mere human being. So Roman Catholics are applying divine attributes to Mary. Equally it is idolatry and blasphemy to call Mary Co-Redemptrix, robbing Christ of his uniquely divine role as the Savior of mankind. Mary did not die for your sins at Calvary, the Lord Jesus did. They also dishonor Christ in their idolatrous paintings that depict Mary, robed in royal splendor while holding a small and naked baby Jesus. Neither is he nailed to a crucifix. He is enthroned in heavenly glory.

How disrespectful is it that God literally tore the veil that separated us from Him and we would choose to pray to a sinful human being over God.

Orthodox "venerate" Mary as well. You bring up the worship thing and they'll deny it three ways to Sunday, but oh how they "venerate" her!

Ok, then what is the Hail Mary prayer for? I was raised Catholic and Yes, they do worship Mary.

Everything ascribed to Venetration especially towards Mary & her image, makes the word synonymous with Worship & people don't realize Our God Our Father is so jealous he doesn't want us to do anything like Worship to things meant to bear a likeness to him so why would he want that for Mary & her likeness, it doesn't matter what word is ascribed to it, it is the actions he doesn't want us to do, no speaking to the dead, no prayer to anything he created, no prayer to anything we create, no bowing, no reverence is to be ascribed to any of his creation only he The Creator as no one is worthy
