This exercise is truly a game changer for me. It gave me that last piece of external rotation in my right hip I needed and now i feel my right foot arch is more connected to the ground even though i did tons of specific foot exercises for that. The rest of my body automatically aligned more as well.

EDIT: What also helped me is just to lean forward in this position in a prolonged stretch, I feel it lengthening my upper and lateral glutes (anterior fibres of glute medius) which were always overactive and contributed to my lack of external rotation on that side. Try out the stretch before doing the exercise as it will make the exercise itself easier. Before you lean forward into the stretch make sure you push your torso to the middle in a upright position with the arm that is on the same side of the hip you are stretching. So if you are stretching your left side, push off with your left arm to make sure your torso doesn't hang to the left as a compensation strategy to get the most out of the stretch.

I did this on my Left leg first, and felt nothing, I thought I may be doing it wrong. I then switched to my right leg, OMG after 3 reps I felt the muscle kick in, so my right side must be tight. Thank you so much for this amazing yet simple exercise !!

I'll have to try this. I haven't been able to sit right with an ankle up in a long time. Doctors have always tried to sell you a pill instead of being a real doctor an actually looking for a solution. Thanks for this. 👍

I saved this video in my playlist, I’m so glad to have found it! For a few years, my R knee won’t go down as far as my Left, and I’ve been doing many types of stretches & exercises, but not this one, so I’m going to try it and get back to you. Thank You so much! 💕💕💕

Omg i started doing these like 6 months ago i have come so far in my hip mobility used to have a spinal stimulator wrongly placed in my back the battery was on my rt hip and that leg is a lit bit longer than my left leg. I do two sets of 6-12 in my warm up/stretching for my glute days and even my days off if iam having lots of pain nobody told me about this i kinda figured it out on my own listeing to my body wow iam so proud of myself first video ever i have seen on this excerise 😊😮❤

Wow Ive had this problem for a few years can’t cross my left ankle over my right knee! Also have restricted mobility left hip. I watched this several times to grasp the proper position and did several reps. Sat in a chair tried to cross my leg over my knee and did it!! Rusty, but did it!! I will keep working this!! Thank you so much!!!!
