Apparently God predestined me to not accept the Calvinist worldview.

Calvinist is unfortunately a derogatory term these days. Predestination/election is literally the most Christian doctrine there is and it's what separates it from every other religion in existence. Salvation is based on what God does, not on what the man does.

Satire is a great way to make reality more real to some. Great video. 👍

Funny how you think a simple three lettered word would clear the confusion; “ALL”

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Love God, love one another.
I know we have differences, for me to not let all that hurt my relationship with the Lord, or get discouraged, I ask myself; what’s my core, do I love Jesus? Yes, I do and need his tender mercies everyday! I want to love Him more everyday and my neighbor too, is the desire of my heart, the rest is just fluff.
Blessings for everyone 🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️

Former Calvinist here. See what he did here is not exegete the text but instead took you to a “proof text” for his system, which is also read out of context. John 3:16 along with seemingly countless other verses refute the doctrines of Calvinism.

I'm laughing but this is the best explanation of it I've heard to date. Thanx!

Nothing here argues for the exclusively Calvinist doctrine of double predestination, which says that God predestines men for reprobation. Thomas Aquinas argues that while sanctifying grace is caused by election, sin is not caused by reprobation, rather sin is the cause of reprobation. Nobody disagrees that no one can come to God without His grace unless they’re Pelagians. Either you’re not a Five Point Calvinist, or you’re pretty good at hiding the claims of Calvinism that people actually have problems with so they look foolish when you straw man them.

I love how everybody gets so salty about Calvinism but I’ve never seen anybody in the comments who actually understands it or objects all the verses that point to Calvinism. And the doctrine of justification. If Christ died for the whole world. The whole world would be justified.

But if God predestines some for heaven and predestines some for hell, doesn’t it follow that God wills for some to be in hell?

1 Timothy 2 states that God “wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” and that Jesus was “a ransom for all people”, not just the elect. Surely we’re not suggesting that those who reject God and choose hell for themselves are not people, right?

Yes, God predestinated and chose ALL of us to be in Him before the foundations of the earth. Meaning there was a plan in place from the very start for every human to ever live to have an opportunity to choose Christ. We become the elect when we choose to accept his gift, and anyone can accept that gift, not just a chosen group that no one knows

Maybe I misunderstand, but as stated it seems to me that the Calvinist view might defeat the point of decipleship, and we all know Matthew 28:19 - 20. If they are gonna be saved regardless and they are already chosen, then why go and make deciples of every nation?

1 Tim 2, 1-4
"
2 Therefore I [a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in [b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and [c]reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth"

The sovereignty of God in all things is exactly what it means to be God....

I think the issue not addressed is that John 3:16 is seen to conflict with the part of double predestination where people end up in hell.
