" But now God commands ALL men EVERYWHERE to repent."
How's THAT context?

The more I hear about Calvinism, the less and less sense it makes.

Just because everyone was kung fu fighting doesn’t mean everyone was kung fu fighting.

“God wants everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth.”

Anyone can believe in Jesus and be saved.

You’re right. It must be viewed in context, and at no time does that context show that certain people were pre-selected to be saved and the rest pre-selected to go to Hell.

A good thing to remember for both sides here is that each (Calvinists and non-Calvinists) have a different understanding of how atonement works:

For Calvinists, the Atonement is Effectual. That is to say, if Jesus died for you, you WILL be saved.

For non-Calvinists, the Atonement is meant to be open for all but forced on none. In other words, since Jesus died for you, you CAN be saved.

The difference is that in Calvinism, Atonement was effectually meant for a specific (i.e. Elect) group and has already saved them, whereas in Non-Calvinism the Atonement is provided and offered for all, but will only be applied to those who freely believe.

This is why Calvinists think a Universal Atonement would equal a Universal Salvation. It's also why non-Calvinists view hell as more of a tragedy: everyone who has ever gone there post the Resurrection is someone for whom Christ bled and died.

Calvinist teaching Doctrine of man as if it was Doctrine of God .

Whenever I argue with an Arminian, they never cite a single verse to support their argument. They simply rant on about how their pastor says that Jesus died for everyone, and that "all" means "all, " which is why I am still a Calvinist to this day. Not a hypercalvinist though.

More like "all means all in the verses where Calvinists like to claim all means some"

Keith, I appreciate you doing videos like this. The fruitful conversations that are happening in the YouTube comment section will finally solve the issue once and for all.

Why do Calvinists have such a bad rep? All the Calvinists I know are so very humbled by the gift of salvation, but all the comments section do is make the same slander. "Calvinists make no sense" " Calvinists are condescending" "Calvinists are so and so"

Just like how Christianity is hated by the world, it seems the values a Calvinists stand for is hated as well

So which of the verses that says Jesus died for "all" is out of context and means only some or elect? This guy has zero logic

Calvinist: 'all' might not always be 'all'
Conclusion: so 'all' is always 'some' .

The context he is referring to is the Calvinist Systematic. This is like someone using an obviously parabolic parabolic moment like PLUCK OUT YOU EYE, and using that to rationalize turning any passage into parable/metaphors.

John 3-16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever Believes on him should not perish but have everlasting life

And once again we have a Calvinist condescendingly pointing out the OBVIOUS. But overlooking ALL the scriptures that do use the word to mean each and every. So bored of this intellectual superiority theology drivel..

The verse this guy quotes isn't referring to salvation.

So you’re still using the context of your own choosing. Nothing is said here. Calvinism teaches Christian doublethink and cripples the mind and the witness.

John the Baptist preached to all the message of repentance but only some responded. That is the context.

typical Calvinist using a verse out of context because of their pretext. They are allergic to Biblical hermeneutics.
