Why I Call Myself a Calvinist

When I meet someone that says "I'm a Calvinist..." I pray hard for them to find the truth in Scripture. Not from eisegetical texts written by MEN but the TRUE word of God.

this is a good argument to use I had a friend being so spiteful when i tell him I'm orthodox ☦. he says well I'm a Christian. I can't help but think that's just the phrase term for I love God at home and occasionally flip through the Bible to see if a random verse helps me feel better kind of person.

I know a Calvinist and she spoke just like you and she always argued “once saved always saved. If you are truly saved you will never sin again etc. She is now divorced and living with a man out of wedlock, drinks, uses bad language. I never understood this

Labels are helpful to clarify one’s position in discussion, but I’m not walking around calling myself a calvanist… I am a Christian… I agree, that if someone says I’m a Calvinist then u might think like ok he might be the real thing.. but just like a Christian can be false, a Calvinist can as well…

Yes, I introduce myself as such to make it clear as well. But I have to add I am a five point calvinist because there are people claiming to be a four point one, which makes them wrong. 😉💜🙏✝️ #superiortheologymatters

I've been a baptized Christian for less than a year, and it's annoying that we can't get on the same page. I don't mind those who are ignorant and open to learning, it's those who pit one verse against another instead of letting scripture work with itself.

So if you meet a calvinist know that they believe that God only chose to save a few people, and that Jesus only died and made provision for those people. The rest of humanity is left hopelessly doomed.

Though I am an advocate of T.U.L.I.P… I don’t introduce myself as a Calvinist or label myself as such. I prefer to introduce myself as a Reformed Christian, in some cases a Reformed Baptist. Just a preference.

I absolutely am the exact same way as you just never can tell nowadays and If someone tells me they are a Christian I ask them if they’ve been truly born again just to make sure they knew what they believe.

I’ve recently come to Christ (within the last two and a half years) and the Holy Spirit is now leading me into the doctrine of Calvinism. Do you recommend any good books that objectively compare Calvinism and Arminianism for someone who is seeking to learn more?

So what if don't fit into any label? I'm actually exploring and feel people take on labels too early before fully researching and then end up agreeing with everything they teach out of emotion rather than studying everything thoroughly. I think Christian is just fine

I think I am a Calvinist now. I still need to do more research to understand fully. I was never Arminian. I thought Molinism made the most sense. Then I philosophically realized the problems with my conceptions of free will. Putting that together with biblical teaching, I think Calvinism makes the most sense.

I find this a little silly because I'm not reformed or calvinist but I do the same thing.I recently moved to Arkansas amd everyone thinks they are a Christians because their grandma went to one of the many, "first baptist" in town. Finding out what people believe it's limited to calvinists. But only an "elect" person would think this way.
