this doctrine is so despised because it gives God 100% credit and man wants to take some credit for themselves

OH WOW... You just got me on that one
So "the world" in John 3:16 is a broad term? Would it be like saying someone in Texas loves college football but obviously Oklahoma and Texas A&M don't count? I guess I could agree with that

““[2] I have loved you, ” says the Lord. But you say, “How and in what way have You loved us?” “Was not Esau Jacob’s brother?” declares the Lord. “Yet I loved Jacob (Israel); [3] but [in comparison with My love for Jacob] I have hated Esau (Edom), and I have made his mountains a wasteland, and have given his inheritance to the jackals of the wilderness.””
‭‭Malachi‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭3‬

Just ask them about what God says about the Israelites/ jews ..., why do Christians think it thier responsibility to take care of the Jews but not faiths denominations but do include the poor orphans and widows which would be special cases right.... Just saying we are none worthy nor none elect enough to try to explain everything. . . . Just know this If you love God He'll be there im a baptist and seen Many things and expected quite a bit as well. Pray talk believe trust in Him not what you see and hear

Free will is a man's way of exercising his pride.

By analogy, I love my wife and I love my kids. The way I show love to my wife is different from the way I show love to my kids.

Hate did not mean hate the same way we use it now. Back then it meant prefers. Of course God loved him but preferred one over the other.

Don't be fooled by this video. Jesus told us that to follow him, you must hate your father and mother. Christ did not mean that you literally are to hate them. It's called an idiom..

God created us in his own image, so we are loved from the beginning. And yea, God knows what's going to happen, but he's not deciding it because we have free will.

It's not that what is written has to happen, more like, what will happen is already written.

Jesus said to hate your mother and father.... He is not telling you to violate the 5th commandment.. he's talking about preference not HATE. Rebecca was bearing twins.... Only one could carry the bloodline to the Christ. God made the choice. God told her the older would serve the younger. Consistent with a pattern already established, God chose the lesser to fulfill his purpose. This is repeated many times in scripture. Rebecca even deceived Isaac to help fulfill the promise. God told Jacob to love his brother... Esau... whom God 'hated'????. That passage has nothing to do with soteriology.

You misinterpreted Romans 9:13 🤦🏽‍♂️ you should probably go back and re-read the previous verses.

“For this is the word of promise: “At this time I will come, and Sarah shall have a son.” And not only this, but there was Rebekah also, when she had conceived twins by one man, our father Isaac; for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that the purpose of God according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls, it was said to her, “The older shall serve the younger.” Romans‬ ‭9‬:‭9‬-‭12‬

God’s purpose through Israel was declared before the children were born, not his hatred. God did not hate Esau before he was born. It was God’s choice to keep his promise to Abraham through Jacob that was before their birth. His purpose was not kept secret in some mysterious eternal decree, but revealed to Rebecca. Read Romans 9:10 and 11 in conjunction without the intervening explanation of God’s choice. This revelation from God was given verbally to Rebecca in Gen 25:22-23. She knew before they were born that the elder would serve the younger.

This was not a prophecy of hate or a curse. If Esau would bless Jacob, then Esau would be blessed according to the promise (Gen 12:3). God loved Jacob (Israel) by promise, and hated Edom (which is Esau) for their violent opposition to God’s purposes on the earth.

God loves everyone, unless you’re not a part of a very particular group.

God's love is part in parcel to our perception of it, sometimes maybe, idk. But when we get into Romans, I have a lot of skepticism about what really went down there

In spanish, the bible does not use the word "hate". I believe there should be something lost in the translation.

Actually, I have always struggled with those verses. Esau was an innocent infant. Now, I know that God seems the beginning and the ending of everyone's life here in Earth; but, did those words mean that God hated Esau from the day of his conception or because he knew of the lies, deceptions, trickery and evil that Esau would do AFTER he was grown is the reason God hated Esau?
