Показать описание
Myofascial release technique for chronic neck and shoulder pain. Tightness in the pectoralis major keeps the shoulders in a rounded forward position, leading to a host of issues. Rounded forward posture places a strain on the muscles of the upper back and shoulders, limiting the range of motion of the rotator cuff leading to discomfort in the shoulder itself. This dysfunctional position of the shoulders an also cause the head and neck to protrude forward leading to pain and stiffness in the neck. The most common causes of tight pecs are related to activities of daily life. Typing at a desk, driving, carrying a heavy purse or baby and emotional stress. These trigger points, the tension itself must be addressed and deactivated restoring length to the pecs, allowing your shoulders back into a healthy position. If you have chronic discomfort in your shoulders and neck give this release a try!

You are a lifesaver! I am finally on the road to recovery after several years of mystery illnesses. I just discovered today that the strong heart palpitations I experience while falling asleep are due to the trigger point I have in my mid-right pectoralis major. I knew it was sore there (from overuse at work), but had no idea it was affecting me in so many ways. In addition to the palpitations, I've also been struggling with my diaphragm not working at night and my right arm going numb and tingling. Earlier in the week my doctor and I finally figured out that those two problems were from shortened scalene muscles (and probably sternocleidomastoid) pulling my ribs up and pinching the nerves. We were still stumped on the heart palpitations. This video has been so informative. I had been watching a few of your other videos earlier today when I finally solved the mystery.

I learned about myofascial release from running but I wish I had known about it when I was a young swimmer. This is the one thing that I don't think has crossed over enough to competitive swimming and it is so important for pain management and injury avoidance.
