Excellent! A few years back I found my faith in the Word of God waning a little. It scared me! How could I be sure it was indeed the Word of God? Once before, in college, I had faced such questions, which were satisfactorily answered by a little book by F. F. Bruce. But now more questions had been raised. Then I remembered my mother always quoting that verse from Romans that “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” I gave my questions to God—to bring to my attention any material that would answer my questions to my satisfaction, and in the meantime, I would immerse myself in the Word of God, which in itself would increase my faith. It did; the Word of God is living and powerful and my love and enthusiasm for it returned and grew. In due time my husband and I visited the Creation Museum and in their gift store I found a set of DVDs that went into far more depth than I had previously studied as to the veracity of the Word of God and how the Bible came to us. I thank God that He has not left Himself without a witness and that He answers the sincere questions of our hearts. Thank you for sharing God’s Word and heart so succinctly and kindly.

Thank you. A verse I use is 1 John 5:9, If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. We use the same faith to believe the witness of man and the witness of God. Keep up the good work!

*Faith* is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

By *Faith* the people of old received their commendation.

By *Faith* Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous.

By *Faith* Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death. Now before Enoch was taken he was commended as having pleased God.

Without *Faith* it is impossible to please GOD, for whoever would draw near to GOD must believe that HE exists and that HE rewards those who seek HIM.

By *Faith* Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the *righteousness that comes by Faith.*

By *Faith* Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

By *Faith* he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

By *Faith* Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.

Hebrews 11

*Faith* comes by hearing.

Romans 10:17

Salvation is the “gift”, not “faith”.

Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Salvation by God's grace is the gift not faith.

God didnt give Peter the gift of little faith when he started sinking after walking on the water.

Even calvin did not believe faith was a gift.

In a general sense, we can say faith onto salvation is a gift from God; however, Scripturally, I do not see being taught that faith onto salvation is a gift. So, Scripturally, regarding salvation, the "Gift" is justification and eternal life by our faith in Lord Jesus because of the Gospel. Yes, God, by the Spirit, gives a measure of faith to operate a gift of the Spirit, but nowhere in Scripture do I see that faith onto salvation is a gift.

Faith is an ability all have, But Salvation IS the GIFT of GOD through the Gospel, for a mere Mustard seed of faith in the Gospel will secure Salvation forever.

May I ask? Why is it that so called calvinists are attacking me, saying that I'm going down a dangerous path, just because I don't hold to calvinism and see truth in the way brother Leighton and others explain Scripture? They really believe I am lost.

Is faith an efficacious?

Leighton Flowere: No, absolutely Not

Peter.: “Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, TO THOSE who have OBTAINED LIKE PRECIOUS FAITH with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:”
‭‭II Peter‬ ‭1:1

Peter is direct to a certain people with a certain type of faith like his. If he meant exercising of PRECIOUS FAITh, He would of said this completely different lol

In John 2, Jesus rejected the people faith. He didn’t have faith in their faith. So you can conclude that those people didn’t exercise precious and truth faith. Why? Because they didn’t receive it just as Peter.

I bought a fifty cent pocket watch when I was about 10 years old. In about an hour you couldn't have put that watch in a five gallon bucket. That's the pillar verses of Calvinism. They can take the verses out of the bible but will they plug back in? No.

A potter needs clay to make his jugs, he does not use just any soil: sand or dirt simply will not work. In the same way God looks for people who will believe in him, those who believe are the right material for God to work with. Those who reject God or harden their hearts are not the right people. If you believe, than you are in, and God can start work on you.
