Leighton Flowers is very double-minded (James 1:8) in this respect; when he criticizes Christians for appealing to mystery, he forgets it's actually fine to do that if God hasn't revealed something in scripture or hasn't revealed how something was done in scripture. It falls right in line with Deuteronomy 29:29 and Romans 11:33-36.

And yet, when Christians try to elaborate on the mystery using logic and/or speculation, he then accuses that Christian of being a Gnostic; having "secret" knowledge of God only given to them. His disdain for Calvinism is actually his "god, " and when you delve into any type of idolatry it runs your emotions, which effects your thinking, and which ultimately dictates your actions.

This is the logical fallacy of false equivalency!! I think that is the of the flower growing here.. it is more of a weed but that also might get to close to false equivalency so I will just let it lie there!😂

I think he’s getting at “why did Adam choose”, which is why the confessions state God created free will in a mutable manner:

“Man, in his state of innocency, had freedom and power to will and to do that which is good and well-pleasing to God; but yet mutably, so that he might fall from it.” - Westminster Confession Article 9 Section 2

Our Will is mutable so that (the key word) we would fall from it. I don’t think it’s a mystery, rather it’s divine sovereignty and planning as Paul states in Romans 8:

“For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭20‬ ‭NIV‬

I think Leighton just doesn’t understand the confessions, our beliefs, or what scripture says
