Establishing boundaries is essential; if certain situations or interactions consistently provoke the urge to mask, consider limiting exposure to them or removing yourself altogether. Surrounding oneself with understanding and like-minded individuals can promote authenticity. Engaging in therapy can provide professional guidance to delve into the reasons behind masking, offering coping strategies and fostering self-acceptance. Keeping a journal about social interactions can be enlightening. By documenting and reflecting on these experiences, you can identify patterns or triggers for masking and work towards more genuine interactions.

Okay, so the first two depends but that last one is ALMOST EVERY SINGLE TIME...
And I don't even know yet if I even am autistic. A Neurodivergent friend of mine says it could be detrimental to have an official diagnosis and I'm unsure as to whether or not to be tested. Especially as an adult and i hear that's harder to determine.

If I need a therapist for these symptoms, (realized I just have them and still have them after watching and reading the caption) is it okay for a FRIEND to help me cope? I don't like therapists because I also tend to overthink around them, which isn't easy to fix.
My friend is a great friend for me to subsist to about my problems about society. (I have anxiety.) I'm 14 and she's 13. Is it better to get a real therapist or just let her help me tolerate my problems?
