The lying hamstring stretch is a passive hamstring stretch that can be done after a warm up or workout to open the hamstrings and improve flexibility. Here, Personal Trainer and Yoga Instructor Ryan demonstrates how to do a lying hamstring stretch.

How To Do A Lying Hamstring Stretch
1. Lie down flat on your back with arms by your sides and legs extended straight out.
2. Lift one leg up as high as you can while keeping the knee straight and foot flexed.
3. Place both hands on the back of the hamstring, calf or ankle and gently pull the leg towards your chest as close as you can while keeping it straight.
4. Hold for 30 seconds and switch legs.
