Let me know if these two tips work for you, or if you've tried them. I know it sounds super simple but the 1st one especially has helped me much.

Love you brother. Excellent visualization ideas. Our imagination and self-conception is SOO SOOO SOOOO IMPORTANT. So much of our anxiety comes from us visualizing negative outcomes, rather than positive. And the anxiety is an illusion. I just started reading a book on this visualization / self-conception topic actually, really fascinating. Keep up the videos Scott! Keep being you Scott!

What if your visualization of yourself is something you're not? I always picture myself doing awesome shit in advance and when the moment actually comes, I can't do shit and whatever I do is filled with anxiety. It might be because I have struggled with understanding what I am or what I'm meant to do in a situation. How to overcome this?

I agree. Self confidence is realy important to understand what's going on arround us and makes it easyer to be a part of what's going on, if that is realy what you want, becouse we don't always have to agree with everyone else. Thanks for the video :-)

Thanks Scott a lot for your video, in social situations sometimes we get so anxious, but I think you’re right, if you give permission to be just yourself, not acting for others, could be better.

Yep. The ol' cliché: 'just be yourself'. I never took this serious, mainly with bad results. Which 'mask' shall I wear today in order to be liked, avoid conflict, etc.? The stress of being an 'actor' in front of work colleagues, even friends, takes its toll. Now at 50yo, I am now proudly ME in those situations. Warts and all. I speak my mind, politely, I'm no longer a people-pleaser. Conflicts? Bring it on! I don't really care. Now I AM in charge of myself and never felt so liberated!

I can definitely relate to the ‘breaking character’ thing. I’ve learnt to create this character in social situations that I’m comfortable with and it gives me anxiety when I feel like I’m breaking it.

I CAN BE ME.

I need to likely tattoo 'be yourself' cos in the moment or overthinking it I forget all the time. Thanks for the reminder.

@depression to expression These are good tips. Even though social anxiety can be very difficult I don't really see it as anything I need to "cure" anymore. So much of Western society embraces the loud, outgoing, super social personalities so it can feel really alienating to not fit that mold but all the people I love and admire tend to have social anxieties or are very sensitive souls. There is a beautiful side to our troubles 💖
