Social anxiety can be crippling, however it’s a very normal thing for us to experience as being rejected socially is something we are instinctively programmed to try to avoid.

The key to overcoming social anxiety is to carry out experiments in your life to test out whether people judge you as negatively as you predict they will. You will need to stop avoiding social situation that cause you anxiety and drop any crutch like behaviours which are aimed at trying to keep yourself safe while in the situation, these only bring your anxiety levels down temporarily but end up maintaining the anxiety overall.

I always think about doing this and sometimes I do but the experiments have failed on me in the past and I’ve looked like a complete idiot but it’s really me judging how other people act and I’m as judgemental towards other people as I am with myself. I think it’s more about getting comfortable with actually doing these experiments and getting comfortable with just doing them whether you think someone judges you or not.

I understand you trying to help, but as someone with severe social anxiety i don't think watching a video with someone looking at me is going to make me feel better. Just some helpful judgement, no hate was put forward
