your voice makes me cry, break down and share all my worries to you, it's very relaxing and comforting

The enlightening moment for my social anxiety was the moment when i realized that nobody actually gives a sh*t about what i was doing or who i was. I observe some ‘brave’ people making themselves embarressed in public (for me) then people laugh including me, then next day nobody cares, so this was all ‘in my head’.

I do have social anxiety disorder :( I am afraid to interact with others because I cannot make eye contact and is very socially awkward. It's really sad I have this bc I force myself to isolate from others since I have heard people judge me for something I cannot control 😞

I wish I could express myself but when I talk to someone my mind goes BLANK and I start to over analyze everything .. my voice gets low and I start to get judgment on myself which makes me not give eye contact because I feel ashamed for existing so then I feel bad because I know I’m coming off as rude so then I feel even worse.. I just feel like I’m boring and unlovable… like I KNOW that isn’t true but I still FEEL it 😞 I have no real connections where I can laugh with someone, not even a single family member.. nobody😒 Been isolated and friendless since 2013… I don’t even work with people anyone.. (self employed)… Anyone once in a similar situation and got out of it? If so, how? What’s your story?

some of my biggest triggers are when people ask to hang out, someone i’m not as close to calls/texts me, or when i get asked to work the register at work

I needed this so much 💞 I have the worst social anxiety and won't go out with people unless I'm good friends with them already. People tell me not to be anxious but that doesn't help the actual hormones and chemicals that are making me feel that way. Lemme shut off the tap I guess????

Honestly I'm socially anxious all the time. I remember how my legs started shaking and i was pinching my fingertips while just sharing an opinion in front of my class and a few teachers which made a rough total of fifty people. I really need help to overcome this

I’m still in school and when I feel anxious about how I look I just try to think of what I would think if I saw myself from another person’s perspective. 9/10 if I saw somebody like me I wouldn’t think anything of it.

As an addition to number one; you can try giving your intrusive thoughts a name to differentiate between what's really you what is [insert name you don't like, for example]. The worries are probably as real as that imaginary person anyway and it can prevent you from blaming yourself for your anxiety.
