Being self-critical (perfectionist) has always been one of my biggest Achilles Heels due to always feeling like I have to proof myself. Growing up, I used to get teased and called “retarded” because I have a speech impediment. As a result, this made me more self-conscious and determined to trying to be perfect in everything I do.

*KEY POINTS:*

00:00 - What about our own RED FLAGS?
03:08 - Avoidant Attachment (The importance of communicating with people. How does your relationship with your mother affect you? The ability to feel for others)
05:00 - Negative Self Talk (Self-destruction due to disbelief in oneself. Practise mindfulness)
05:48 - Big Ego (Show respect, no matter how far ahead you are. Humble yourself)
06:50 - Perfectionism (is PATHETIC. It ruins relationships. It stops you from taking risks. It leaves you UNHAPPY)

Finally, i found myself!
I've been into the self improvement journey for over a year now, and I discovered that I've been doing it for the wrong reason: to make people regret not giving me attention.
And I now know why I've been doing it for that reason. It's because I was bullied when I was 7years old, and I had a teeth accident when I was 13. These two traumas changed me to a people pleasing person, placing my worth on people's opinions.
But now, I love myself. I'll become better for ME.

First off a big thanks to you for the channel. I have battled and still battle addiction on the daily. I have been to rehab and it worked for a while. I have childhood trauma, molested by a family friend at age 4 to 5, my mom was an alchoholic and most days she would just lay in bed crying. I'm 44 years of age now and I'm working on changing myself. I find that I'm very short tempered and aggressive most of the time. It really sucks because I'm a good man. This cloud of bad habbits and repeated failure to become the person I want to be just seems impossible.

A reminder to men : Masculinity is not about how
many muscles you have, how many times you have
had sex or how rich you are. It is about how much
you value your morales and your relations with people

Avoided Attachment is a Red Flag of mine, but I can proudly say that I am making progress by asking good friends of mine to meet-up. One another thing though. I myself also hurt a lot of people in my past, no matter If physically or mentally and I also have changed that about myself. Those people around me that I hurt, did also hurt me and I had to defend myself. However I did feel pleasure from this and I was proud of it and that is not something anyone should be proud of. Even my own Trauma got to the point with a diagnose of PTSD apparently. This channel is cool and I can see a lot of fellows that recognize the reality.

I swear I needed this information, it's reminded me not just to look at my progress but my shortcomings also.
We definitely need a video on how to overcome your past trauma, I feel like that's the most important thing I need to learn

I love this video. Only when I spoke to a therapist did I realize my childhood trauma affected my adulthood. I was able to heal when I spoke to myself like I was the parent I needed at the time. This practices mindfulness and positive self talk. When you love yourself, you can better love others.

Perfectionism is killing me. It's literally making me stay away from risks and things I'm not 100% sure about the outcome of, and from talking to women too.

We all have flaws in ourselves. And that's natural.
But we mustn't ever give up on the journey of perfecting ourselves.🦍
