Hey Scotty. I have pretty bad luck with cars. I've had 3 stolen and 2 totaled in rear end collisions in the past 10 years... So I tend to not keep cars for all that long. Every time I go to buy a car I get hardcore into your channel. Just wanted to thank you for steering me in the right direction in the increasingly likely event I'm in the market. Your videos are so helpful! I Just bought a 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback with a manual transmission and 60k miles. So far so good. I'm sure it will be a great car until it gets hit by a meteor next year.

A friend of mine had a gremlin.
He put souped up 304 v8 with 3 speed standard tranny.

No back seat just speakers - Awesome. Finished it with a $7, 000 paint job in 1986.

Light weight and faster than almost anything legal on the road back then.

When growing up, my family had *two* of these cars: Vega and Oldsmobile Delta 88 diesel. Both were bonafide junk. When my parents traded in the Delta 88, they had to have it towed to the dealer because it stopped working that day. The Vega had the most anemic engine: 75hp. It could barely climb a local hilly road. I remember having to pull far to the right because I could only manage 15 mph at full throttle.

My parents' next car? Toyota Corolla wagon. Lasted forever until they upgraded to a Lexus.

My friend and I went in 50/50 for a Gremlin, our first car. 3.8L V8 with a 3-speed manual. We both learned how to drive a stick in that thing! Tons of problems but when it ran it was a hoot

I LOVED the 1972 Gremlin with the 304 V8 it was WONDERFUL, took a 390 4 speed out of a Javelin and put it in the Gremlin, those things are well sought for !

It was our first car we bought in Calgary, had it for 13 years, all I ever have done to it was a clutch, and regular maintenance. Sold it and it lasted a few more years.Standard made the difference.

Hi Scotty, you missed the Corvair on the worst car list. My first car was a 1965 Corvair Corsa, used way more oil than gas! Ralph Nader, who fought for consumer protection back in the day said the Corvair was unsafe at any speed!
