BMW in Europe just hits different. I got one because I like it and I work on it myself. I don’t care what people see, it’s my car My choice 😅

Never understood poor people trying to look rich. It shows a weakness of self confidence.

Enthusiats will make different car buying decisions than people who only see it as a form of transport. Simple rule of thumb is buy what you want if you can afford to pay for it and maintain it.

Every brand some folks say to avoid have something good to offer to a different group of buyers. Im sure plenty of people here only care about if its gonna last you 15 years and 900k miles. But tons of people want something different. No reason to look down on others just because they have a different perspective

Appreciate your videos Scotty! There is no substitute for an honest, knowledgeable mechanic. Bought a 1996 328i from him (just for a knock around 2nd car)- paid $3500 had it 4 years. Our nephew drove it another 2 years. Great car! Such a great experience got a 5 year old 435i m sport, paid less than half of new price. Our mechanic identified oil leaks and water pump- dealer fixed (reluctantly). Awesome car, but I know that I couldn't afford if I had to take to dealer.

We own a 2015 Lexus. Only a normal oil, filter and a battery change.

Wouldn't want one except maybe one from the 80s when the Mercedes ran a million miles and the BMWs weren't plastic.

I personally own a 2016 M3 and a 2015 Range Rover Sport. They're two of the best vehicles I've ever driven. If you take good care of them with regular maintenance, they'll last a very long time without any issues. Owning a car is one of your biggest life expenses regardless of which brand you choose. Life is short, so pick something you love getting to drive each day! F the haters, get what makes YOU happy! 💯

Own multiple 90s BMWs and they have been extremely reliable. The issue is people don't do maintenance and aren't mechanically savvy. If you can do your work, they can be extremely reliable.

I have had four cars in my
lifetime. A 1980 Toyota Corolla without A/C, no power steering, no power brakes, crank windows, 4 speed manual transmission. Also a 1989 Toyota Camry, a 2001 Honda Civic with 5 speed manual transmission and now a 2014 Toyota Corolla with about 104k miles on it. None of them had any mechanical problems and I am grateful for that and my good health! We all have our priorities in life and those are mine. 😊

I have owned all manner of German cars in the past and Scotty is not wrong. Now a proud Lexus owner and will never go back.

Always loved your videos. Lately I’ve been loving these more where you breakdown what you’re talking about and show snippets of cars and brands.

Between me and my wife we owned 7 BMWs now since 2007. I'm and enthusiast and really enjoy these cars. We personally never had any major issues with any or them. The most important thing is to maintain them right and not to beat on the car. Warm ups and cool downs have to be done right. Now if you buy a BMW with 10s of thousands of miles on it, with a questionable maintenance history, and zero knowledge of how the car was driven then yes you are probably going to have issues. So buy new, or if used than less than 2 years old and under 10k miles. And most dealers will give you a discount on the 2 year extended warranty, which will now give you a bumper to bumper warranty for 6 years.

I guess everyone’s experience is different but I bought a 2015 BMW 328i used with 29k miles and 60k miles later, I haven’t had a single issue with it and it’s the best driving car I have ever owned (owned a number of Hondas prior). Im sure there are plenty of Bimmer money pits but fortunately mine isn’t one

I had difficulty selling my C300. Ended up selling at -30% below MSRP and there was just one buyer interested in 2 months time. When I had my Honda accord I sold it same day at MSRP price (slightly above) and had 15 people fight over it.

Happy New Year Scotty! 🥳
To each his/her own! I reside in Canada and own a rare collection of older AMG's ranging from 1996 tto 2006. I perform all of the work and maintenance myself. The parts that I purchase online in the USA are far more inexpensive than Toyota parts are here in Canada. They also come with a lifetime replacement warranty from fcpeuro which is something that I'll never find for my '21 Tundra. I purchased an '06 AMG E55 secondhand for $15500 CAD and it has a current market value of $33K-$37K USD. Every AMG model that I purchased has appreciated and skyrocketed in value. I personally would never purchase a newer model due to reliability and depreciation. It has nothing to do with pretending to be rich, however it has everything to do with enjoying what each model has to offer. There's nothing wrong with owning something rare and at the same time maintaining a piece of automotive history. Who am I to question or condemn someone else's choice of vehicle. Life is about what each and every one of us enjoys. Why that seems to bother other's, I have no idea. Again, to each his/her own.
