Can confirm. I babied my one year old 2014 328i (purchased in 2015) that needed a new turbo and timing chain (class action lawsuit that I missed the deadline on) before 80k miles. Dealership quoted me over $12, 000 to fix. Lucky me the instrument cluster had no red codes showing. The very next day I traded for a 2020 Tacoma. A year later on Memorial Day 2021 I sold the Tacoma for more than I paid and traded up for a 2020 4Runner TRD ORP with less that 24k miles. I’m much happier now.

I bought my 16 year old son a 2008 BMW 328i for 4500.00 last year and it drives like a dream.
Everything Scotty says about them is the gospel, every time my son comes home there is something broken made of plastic. I’ve never had a car stress me out as much as this car.
