My mk5 gti has currently +450k kms and still runs great. Just take care of your car and you will be fine

I drive an 08 gti with 135xxx miles going strong. Sure there is some maintenance involved in owning one but it sure beats driving a Toyota Matrix around

Haven't had any problems with my 10 year old VW with over 300, 000 miles on it. I guess regular maintenance pays off.

I got 4 vws, 99 new beetle glx, 2010 gti, 2016 tiguan and a 2019 golf r. All very great reliable cars. This guy really don't know much. They have all been a breeze to work on. I'd like to see a 99 Toyota with heated seats.

That’s a MK5 GTI from VW, they last if maintain and are way more fun to drive than that Matrix or even that old Lexus. I had one with over 175k miles and I know people with one with over 300k miles. The maintenance is slightly different than a Japanese car but very doable.

While Scotty there are exceptions to everything. We bought our son a VW 06 TDI Jetta had 160, 000 miles. It gets close to 50 mpg 750+ mptank. He has had it 7 years approaching 350, 000. Does not every need oil added between changes. Has had 2 sets of new tires. Both front wheel bearings changed and thats it.
