-Any fast longer than 24 hours

I just completed my first 7 day water fast without any medical supervision. I asked my doctor about it and he said that my body would automatically raise my blood glucose whenever it needed to go up. He said that my body would use the fat to make ketones and my liver would make glucose and it would be no problem. He was right!

How often?

36 hr with goal of weight loss - 1x a week to 1x a month
36 hr with goal of metabolic flexibility - 1x a month to 1x a quarter
48 hr to help deal with depression - 1x a month to 1x a quarter
48 hr as preventative - 1x per 6 months
72 hr for immediate crisis - 1x a week (dr supervised) or 1x a month
72 hr as preventative - 1x a year

Women shouldn't fast the week before their cycle

I started at 190 on 11/1/21 ... Did 3 72hr fast since . Today it is 12/24/21 im at 171. The benefits are unlimited..I will continue to have water fast in my life .

My first 72 hour fast ends today. I moved into it gradually by eating keto, then intermittent fasting, then one high nutrient meal a day, then 72 hours. I had no I’ll effects or discomfort. Woohoo!

Hello, I've enjoyed fasting my entire life. 72y.o male 6ft. 175. One thing i don't often see mentioned is that it is important to eat LIGHTLY when breaking a fast.
