I recently did a 3-day water fast!

Trust me, it wasn't easy - I love food - but fasting, when done safely, has many potential benefits including disease prevention and longevity.

Disclaimer - fasting is not for everyone. Talk to your doctor before beginning a fast. Fasting for 7 days or more should be medically supervised. If your only goal is weight loss, I personally believe there are better, more sustainable options.

In this video, I share my 3-day water fasting diary. Along the way, I explain the physiological effects of fasting, the potential benefits of fasting, and tips for how to properly fast.

I also answer common fasting questions such as:
-is it ok to drink coffee while fasting?
-do you need to take electrolytes?
-how long does it take to get into ketosis?
-does fasting produce autophagy?
-will fasting interfere with sleep?

These fasts are not just good for losing weight but really good for learning self discipline too.

TIPS!
1. Drink PLENTY of water. water will make you feel more full and you don't gain weight from it
2. Try to distract yourself. Try not to give into cravings for food or you might break your fast.
3. Remember it can reduce risk of chronic diseases.
4. Try to sleep longer. (if you can)
I'm gonna start a 5 day fast! If you're starting your fast, good luck and happy fasting!

My older sister fasted 40 days last year and is now healthy and has kept loosing. She’s close to her ideal weight.
My mom has done several 30, 15, 10, day fasts and has cured things that are “incurable”.
If you are fasting, be encouraged! You are stronger than your cravings. And you will reap the benefits.

Fasting is all mental. Get past the mental part and don’t give into the. Cravings and you will be just fine. I have done a week fast and I normally eat one time a day. (One time per 24 hours) I get all my calories in one meal. The results are great. I have a good body, full six pack, and I’m 22 years old but people say I look 16. Fasting has so many Benefits!

Honestly in day 3 (for me), it's not the hunger that will break your fast. It's your mind constantly thinking about any kind of food whether it is a fruit, meat, desserts, etc. Sleeping is also the hard part because you also keep thinking about food.

I was trying to water fast for over a year . I started for 13 hours and gave up every time. A week ago i broke up with my boyfriend whom I've been with for three years now . And i decided to change my habbits . And to starf water fasting I Am on my third day and I already feel amazing. My skin looks better I lost 3 kilograms . And somehow i am happy . I feel happy and proud of self . I feel strong ana powerful . Even tho I look tired by the fast . But I never felt more powerful. I'll keep fasting as long as I feel its okay for my body

I broke the fast today because I have  en exam tomorrow and I needed to study,
had one meal and reset the clock, going for the second round starting from now
5pm 7/11.

I’m currently watching fasting videos to distract myself from thinking about my hunger. I’m on day 2, definitely didn’t think it would be this hard. I want to go more than 3 days but I’m gonna see how I feel on day 3 and take it day by day after that. This is one of my favorite fasting videos I’ve watched so far thank you!

Day 1: ✅ Tuesday
Last ate: Monday, 9 pm
Start weight: 70.8 kg / 156.1 lbs
Morning went by smooth, the evening was very hard and I was really struggling. I only drink water from sunset until sunrise.

Day 2: ✅ Wednesday
Weight: 70, 5 kg/ 155, 4 lbs
I slept great, but the morning was awful, I had shakes, my heart kept racing and I had the strong urge to quit. In the evening when I could drink water I felt much better but I was still very tired.

Day 3: ✅ Thursday
Weight: 68, 9 kg /151, 9 lbs
I slept great, felt energized and awake in the morning.

At 9 pm I finished the 72 hours fast. I lost a total of 2, 1 kg / 4.6 lbs. I feel my body has reset and I feel healthy.

I broke my fast with water when the sunset, and had a bowl of soup and a simple salad at 9 pm.

Tips: The first two days were were difficult so I do recommend everybody trying this to sleep as long as you can and to use a sprinkle of salt in your water (for electrolytes and decrease the feeling of nausea and dizziness. This will not break your fast).

Breaking my fast today. I just finished 3 day/night water only fast. Today is morning 4. Broke it with a few oranges. Feeling WONDERFUL!!!

I did a 3 day water fast recently and I find that I struggled more with boredom than hunger 😂 it kind of took the excitement out of my life when I couldnt taste and/or munch everything in sight 😂.

There are three ways to deal with acid reflux or gerd on a fast:
1. A little bit of baking soda in a cup of water.
2. High PH water(will turn off some of your peptins). Essentia is my preferred one.
3. And then obviously perscription acid reflux medicines.
Since you usually drink alot of water on a fast anyways, number 2 is my method. Even before I did fasting my acid reflux had been so bad that I'd literally be unable to sleep because I would uncontrollably burp for hours. High PH water basically saved me.
