Dread going down the stairs? ⬇️

Your muscles have to not only be strong but you also need control so you can slowly lower yourself down the stairs 💪🏽

Without the control- your knee joint will take more stress. This can lead to pain and difficulty down the stairs 👀

Going down sideways can reduce the stress to the knee as you’re working to build strength ☝🏽

I have found this to be absolutely true I have 17 steps and now that I'm older going down sideways has made all the difference

My husband asked me how someone like you can get us hurting people so well. I said she is an expert and a caring person. It was not enough I have such a bad back, but now am bone on bone in my right knee. My mother had horrible arthritis…inherited I guess, but I keep moving. You have given me hope. ❤

Would you give tips for going UP stairs with hip arthritis? Since doing your exercises ( only 3 weeks ), I'm now able to go up one step at a time alternating, but I have to pause and stabilize before continuing. I wish I'd found you back in January, grateful, however, better now than never. Thank you❤

You are a delight, and I’ve been enjoying your videos after having a meniscectomy three months ago. I just forwarded this video to my son because over the last two years before I even knew I had arthritis they saw me going down steep stairs sideways. So, I can say for sure, this really works! 😂

I massaged my knees with a solution of 10% liquid iodine (1% is for mouth wash) at night and washed it off in the morning. Just a few drops is enough. I needed to do it for 40 nights. Some people just a month. Others just a week. Try it, it's not toxic. After that I didn't have any pain in my knees. After 1 year, a had to do it again. It's been years now that I don't use the iodine and I have no pain in my knees. I'm 64 years old now.

Mostly in home i go down backwards, its really free of pain, but hard to do in public area. Now i have option from u to go down sideways. Thank u, Alyssa, love you doc.❤❤

I had to go down my steps sideways because of a sprained ankle. After 6 month on putting the weight only on one leg .
It took me almost 1 year to be able to walk down my steps using both legs. How fast one can lose muscles strength.😢😮❤

Not only do I have to go down this way, but I also have to ascend like this. I have a steep, long hill, then there sets of stairs to negioote. Thanks for all your fantastic advice. Appreciate you. Love from England 👏🏾

Side stepping is a great idea… also what i do is step down with weaker knee whilst the better knee supports and go from there 🙏🏽

I discovered that I was doing this at my house and sister in law’s house. It interesting that I figured it out on my own. Now to just figure out how to go UP stairs. Any help with this painful and low muscle problem? Thanks for your help.

If I am in a hurry, I walk down backwards.
