Honestly, I think you're better off just taking them in supplement form and drinking your coffee as normal. I want my coffee to taste like coffee.

I decided to forgo coffee as a beverage, but take Life extension’s coffeegenic green coffee extract. For a bulletproof style breakfast beverage, I use one square of alter eco total blackout chocolate, a tsp of Anthony’s organic culinary cocoa powder, 1/2 TBS Brain Octane, 1 tsp Sunbutyrate liquid and a shake of redmonds salt. I add about 12 oz or more boiling water and use a hand frother mixer, the wall plug version to avoid batteries/recharging. I don’t need sweetener, but liquid monk drops and vanilla could go well in this. I love having chocolate to break my fast, get plenty of fuel from this to get thru the morning and early afternoon. I am really grateful for the folks who taught me how to get off the carb train. My life is so much better, slimmer, calmer and hopeful as a ketovore.

So, coffee with MCT oil, honey, cinnamon and use it to wash down carnitine and l-theanine pills? If I do this while snorting magnesium and rubbing fish oil into my hair do I ascend to supplement nirvana?

Thomas, a great remedy I've used to keep asthma at bay is salty water. I put in 5g of Himalayan salt or Celtic salt and consume 1-2g of vitamin C from natural sources, not ascorbic acid.

Unfortunately, even the best honey doesn't taste particularly good in coffee. Put it in tea.I have to say I'm always a little wary about any health "experts" who want us to buy products they recommend. One of the things I love about Dr. Mandell and Dr. Ekberg is that they "sell" nothing. I'm going with butter in my coffee. It does give me a boost. PS I am a coffee "convert." I never drank it much growing up, though everyone in my family did. Now I'm an adoring fan. I mix it with some cacao powder and little bit of dark, sugar free chocolate (95%) for a mocha flavor. Yum! Coffee definitely helps charge my batteries to focus on my work. Thank you, coffee!

I make butter coffee with MCT (Brian Octane) and always put cinnamon in it! I also take Life Extension's Stress Relief when I waken in the night... L-Theanine and Lemon Balm... the stuff is crazy calming. Never thought to take one or two with my morning coffee! Good video Thomas

I just want to add for those that haven't noticed - the study talks about acetyl-l-carnitine, it's the form that crosses blood-brain barrier. I've noticed people on youtube don't mention this when reviewing carnitine studies, and most supplements use other forms - effective for physical performance but not necessarily helpful for cognitive function or depression (adhd and depression studies on ALC are dope)

I add mct, ghee, cacao, and cinnamon to my coffee on my work days. Pretty effective but I don’t normally drink coffee when I’m not working.

Oral carnitine (as opposed to injectable) is not that bioavailable. Thus, you want a fairly high dose. That can increase TMAO, so you probably also want to supplement with garlic/allicin.

Heres what i put in my coffee. I make what in stores would be considered a small to medium sized coffee. First i let it cool to something above lukewarm, then add heavy cream which also gets it a little cooler. Then i add a teaspoon of the following:
- Black Maca Powder
-Ashwaghanda
-Beet Root Powder
-Cinnamon
-Psyllium Husk
-Cacao Powder

And half teaspoon of Ginger Root Powder

Ive thought about adding raw organic honey to this but ive gone so long with this cocktail and i enjoy it a lot. The only annoying part is the psyllium husk because most of the time it clumps up/doesnt dissolve that well. I drink it all with a straw btw.

I have aceytl L carnitine i plan to add to this later.

Even tho I've been on Keto Carnivore for about 6 months, gradually learning as I go. I still have a teaspoon of Manuka Honey once a week. I used this daily in my Coffee every morning, & I really miss this honey so much :(

I chew up a wedge of raw ginger first thing in the morning with a glass of water. And then 30 minutes later I drink my coffee and I feel focused with zero anxiety, zero jitters. It's just my magic method and has been for the last year and a half
