About the video:
When it comes to losing stubborn fat, a lot of people would love to be able to specifically lose fat in areas such as their stomach, lower abs, love handles, or hips. Unfortunately, we can’t spot reduce fat. Where do you lose weight first is determined by your genetics. Now while there are differences from where we lost fat first, there are also patterns of fat loss that we can observe to get an idea of how fat loss works.

And in this video, I explain the five stages of losing body fat, starting with the areas of body fat we lose first, such as face fat, neck fat, fat on shoulders, chest fat, eventually losing fat on lower back and all the way to losing fat on lower abs. You need to be aware of these stages of losing weight, so you know what to expect when losing weight and getting to a low body fat percentage.

Honestly, perfect timing for me. Currently in Stage 4 (5'11" 163 lbs) and suddenly seeing all these veins in my forearm that I didn't know existed my whole life. Also can see a very fuzzy impression of a 4 pack.

I’m in stage 4, sounds like. The issue is mental, for me. Seeing that last bit of belly fat hurts, despite all the hard work I’m putting in. I’ve made insane progress, I’m proud of myself, but it’s that last bit that I can’t seem to shake that hurts the most.

This is amazing man thank you so much! I'm currently in stage 4. I'm down 130 lbs in a little over 2 years. Went from 26% BF to 16% from January to April ish this year. I weighed in at 181 lbs last Saturday. It really is just winning each day. Celebrate the small victories over time. It will add up to your ultimate goals. Everyone wants to cross the finish line. What most people don't understand is the beauty is in the growth/process/journey. Once you fall in love with this it becomes a lifestyle forevermore.

Mario been dieting since October 2022, as was diagnosed with Sleep Apnoea, aged 70 years old, went from 122kg and now down to 92kg with a target of 90kg with the hope I can get rid of the horrible CPAP mask. Have watched many videos such as yours, firstly, thank yo, for not having loud, annoying and distracting music in the back ground and secondly since 1982 was a teacher, lecturer, teacher trainer and professional presenter and find most YouTubers on here have no idea how to convey information in a clear, precise and easily understood manner which you obviously do. I find often YouTubers think being loud, crazy and talk far too quickly is the way it should be done. Made a nice change at the end of your YouTube, which unlike so many others, I watched it to the very end and can remember much of what you told me, which is a mark of a good teacher. Will certainly see what else you have to offer.

When I went from 185 to 175 (very slow, like 6 months time while focusing on my initial muscle building), I saw some changes. 175 to 170 was when I really started feeling good, getting compliments on looking muscular, 164 was when I could see the six pack though not dialed in yet, then every 1-2 pounds after that down to 152 felt dramatic lol. I could've maintained it with ease as I had no issues with it but I needed more muscle, so I will go back to it at a higher BW either this summer or the next.

Mario, I started following you about 3 months back and of all the different channels I watch in regards to weight loss and body transformation, only you tell it as it really is and as I slowly make my way towards 12% BF I look forward to your latest vids. As a 55+ yr old male I may never get to look as good as you but I put a few 30 yr olds to shame. One thing I have seen time and time again is no one talks about swimming for cardio, it is a good way to burn the cals without stressing the joints to much once you get older. Keep up the great content cheers

Good timing. I have been getting frustrated lately because my arms and legs looks awesome, but stomach and chest look like I am just fat and out of shape! I appear to be in stage 3. This gives me motivation to not burn out, thanks! 9 months into my journey currently.


***UPDATE****

One month later, I increased my weekly cardio and decreased weight lifting and my stomach and chest already look better. My body just needed more cardio! Gotta find what works best for your body.

Thanks for reminding me to be patient with my fat loss. It’s like you were reading my mind. I’m in stage 2 and hoping to hit stage 3 soon. But I’ve been going so slow and steady that every once in awhile so get impatient.

Starting to see the outline of my upper abs especially under the right lighting. It’s very motivating. Never had abs before even when I was skinny. This phase is actually more exciting!
