I don't know if anyone is going to see this but I wanted to provide some comfort to people that may be in my situation. I've been somewhat isolated for the past 3ish years. I toughed it out at first but over time I got more and more depressed. Today I learned that being lonely is a big problem that many people have. It's NEVER too late to change. You're not a lost cause and you can do anything you put your mind to. Baby steps are OKAY. Talk to more and more people. Practice conversations by writing it down, talking to someone available, etc. I don't have much more advice other than you got this!

I moved to a new school 6 months ago and ended up becoming friends with people i don't want to be friends with. (Not saying their bad people, they're actually good friendly people its just something about them doesn't feel right) So i effectively have had no friends to actually talk to for the past 6 months. I left all my old friends behind and now i rarely talk to them which i think is the worst part because they are amazing people that i love to hang around. Seriously, this might be the best video on making friends I’ve ever seen. The advice sounds simple and obvious, but I’ve watched it three times now, and it’s deceptively insightful. I need to stop it every 30 seconds and unpack what I just heard, because it’s so full of value. All the other videos are like, “plan an activity night” or “bring a list of 100 conversation starters.” Those tips are so stiff and forced, I cringe every time I think of them. I don’t want to do any of that. I just want to hang out with people, and this video gives great advice on how to do that. Thank you.
