The Re-Master and Re-Release of Buy One Get One Free is here. As the countdown to the 10-year anniversary of the founding of The Märchen Sagen Academy, we wanted to re-release the song that started it all.
A message of paying it forward for kids. Out of the mouth of a then 7-year-old Christian, the hook was born on the stairs while he was walking up to his room. His dad, Couleen LaGon, heard it, and immediately thought it was a smash song waiting to happen. An artist, and a music and video producer, he was thankful that young Chrisitan had so much excitement about making a song after being in the studio with his dad from birth.
The song was recorded, and the video was made. We released it, and it caught fire in our little part of the world called downtown Decatur, GA. Some local schools asked Couleen to come out and teach the students how to make a PSA, they all had school projects around producing them at the time. He developed a course and taught at a few schools when the idea was born. His sister, Toni Dixon, a nonprofit development professional, initially thought that this was something that kids around the world needed. The Märchen Sagen Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit was born.

The Märchen Sagen Academy Announces the Release of New Kids' Single “Buy One Get One Free” – A Heartfelt Campaign to Inspire and Support Creative Growth in Children
Atlanta, GA – The Märchen Sagen Academy, a leading nonprofit dedicated to inspiring emotional and creative growth in children through media production and global storytelling, is thrilled to announce the release of a new single, "Buy One Get One Free." The single, set to launch on September 6th, 2024, is not just another catchy tune for kids but a powerful anthem that echoes the spirit of community and the joy of giving.
The song "Buy One Get One Free" marks a significant milestone in The Märchen Sagen Academy's journey, celebrating nearly a decade of engaging young minds through creative expression. Originally gaining traction in Downtown Decatur, this remastered version of the song connects to the very origins of the academy, which began with teaching kids in local elementary schools how to make videos and public service announcements.
In conjunction with the release, The Märchen Sagen Academy is launching a campaign to drive donors and supporters for its programs. The funds raised will help provide scholarships for underserved children, ensuring they have access to the academy’s enriching after-school and summer programs. These programs focus on video and audio production, storytelling, and other media-related activities designed to foster emotional and creative growth.
