Rest in peace John. You've always been a great person. You've thought many of us the basics of training and biomechanics. Can't believe you are no longer with us. You'll always be thought of when I train. Thanks for all the tips through these years!!

“Having air on your head will not cause a neck injury.” Classic line. This common sense is why we’re tuning in. Thx Mtn Dog

Rest in Peace John, all the gains I've made in the gym have been because I started watching all of your videos that inspired me to start hitting the gym seriously. I started at 247 lbs at my heaviest and now I've dropped down to 205 whilst gaining muscle as I do it. God bless you and keep you john, I'm hitting my push day today and will be implementing dips in my routine.

IMO ring dips are one of the best exercises for shoulder health, simply because they train you to really control the position of your shoulder blades & letting you build all those little stabilizers. After I did ring dips all summer long last year, I came back to bench pressing and immediately broke through my pre-Covid plateau - no shoulder issues.

RIP legend. Anytime I have an inkling of a question on form or potential tips to improve a lift for myself, I still come back to this man's channel. Still run his programs. You touched a lot of lives Mr. Meadows. Going all the way back to 2011 on the ship on deployment waiting 10 minutes for T-nation articles to load getting ideas from him. May God Bless your Wife and Son's

Exercise Tips:
Let your elbows ride out a bit (very subtle)
Get Wider Grip (play around with grip)
Tuck your head into your chest
Feet out in front
Range of Motion: Don't go down too far where you lose tension on triceps and chest

Can you show us how to warm up the elbows and shoulders before the dips?

Thanks coach!

I love John straight forward training. He’s like the Mr. Rogers of training. When I don’t want the silliness. This is who I turn to. No boasting about how many cars, clothes, shoes, material crap. Just training!

Dips are the best upper body pushing exercise. If you add pull-ups & squats you're nearly there.

This is my #1 chest exercise.
If I could only do 1 chest exercise it would be dips.
If I could only do 1 push exercise it would be dips.
I also love doing extra negative reps at the end 😃
Best regards from Iran 🇮🇷

I've been watching Cavalier, Doucette, Nipard and others... But Meadows is the best... Nipard relies too much on studies, Cavalier is decent but he takes himself too serious and Doucette is entertainment. The others just don't have the depth of information and experience as John. He seems like a really decent guy too. Great video on dips

This is how I’ve been instructing my clients for a long time. Nice to see someone so meritorious validate my preferences. Personally, I’m one of those guys who can get sternum pain from dips, doing them gymnast/gironda style has never made me feel that sternum pain.

I never did dips, they never felt right. When I found Mr. Meadows' channel a few years back I kept seeing him perform and rave about them. The first few times, I still hated them. But I kept throwing them in because hey, I trust John.

Man if I haven't started loving them lately. It's all about form, and good form requires practice!
