Here in Scotland we add sugar to the mixture and call them 'scones', or 'tea scones'. We also add diced cherries, sultanas or raisins too. Great with some Homemade Scottish strawberry jam.

I made these Biscuits this morning. It was the first time for me, as my spouse is the Head Chef and I am the Chief dishwasher. To my surprise, they were light and fluffy, oh my goodness they were good. I had gone out and found White Lily Flour at my local HEB Store, picked up the heavy whipping cream, and waited for a cold morning like today. Now for the pièces de résistance! My bride of 53+ years even sang the praises of my biscuits. She was most impressed. So Collard Valley Cooks - a BIG THANK YOU for the video.

I found this recipe five years ago and it is “no fail” and so easy. I had just become disabled and needed quick and easy recipes, and this was a major hit with my family. It’s the best biscuit recipe ever, in my opinion, and so flaky that it melts in the mouth. Here in Texas, it has to be drowned in butter and cream gravy!

I am a retired 68yr old man, and my Mom and Granny both used White Lily flour with top shelf results. I want to try my hand at some biscuits, pie crusts and breads pretty quick. Love your videos! Have a great day, D.

I like the rolling method, because it's easy. This is a new way to make biscuits with 2 ingredients. That's new to me. Cool !

For anyone who doesn’t have self rising flour:

1) For every cup of self-rising flour called for in your recipe, measure flour carefully. You want 1 level cup (125 grams) all-purpose flour.
2) Add 1½ teaspoons (6 grams) baking powder and ¼ teaspoon (1 gram) kosher salt.
3) Whisk to combine.

Tammy, there's a couple things I want to tell you...first of all, I made this last night, and they are the most delicious biscuits I have ever made, but they crumbled a lot when handling. Maybe I didn't put in enough whipping cream in it? Also, yesterday when I first watched your video, I thought "I'm going to make these biscuits and I'm going to make fried chicken!" I haven't made fried chicken in years, so I went to the store and got the chicken (I already had the ingredients for the biscuits) and on the way home, I noticed a homeless man in his old vehicle with a very old, little dog. I talked to him and gave him money and went and bought the dog a bag of dog food. I reminded him that new food should be fed slowly or they will have loose bowels and he doesn't want that in his vehicle. I came home and made those delicious biscuits and fantastic fried chicken. It was the Lord's urging my heart to get to the store, knowing I would come across this man and his little dog. Tammy, you will be blessed because if you did not put up this video, I would not have gone to the store and ultimately helped both of them. I'm sure the Lord would have had someone else do it, but you and I received the blessing out of it and so did they.

Beginner here. Looked in the fridge and realized I had no store bought biscuits and decided to make my own. This recipe is PERFECT. And I LOVE the way you simplified it. You described everything that I should be seeing and feeling. Gave me confidence throughout. I am never buying store biscuits again!!! Thank you ❤️

I have to be honest, even though I grew up in the South, I was never a biscuit person. I tried this recipe and I was hooked. It's easy and foolproof even if you're not-so-savvy in the kitchen. Works great for sweet and savory dishes. They come together easily with 2 ingredients that I always have on hand. I added 1/2 tsp of salt for every cup of self-rising flour...but that's my remix. I use the leftover cream to make sausage gravy. With some sweet tea...YUM!

They really did look good Tammie. 👍 My grandmother made biscuits every morning of her life. She raised a family of 11, she used a big oblong wooden bowl. Granny could whip up a large pan of biscuits in no time. Her big aluminum biscuits pan was black, from all her biscuit baking.
God Bless you and your family.
