I summarize two studies on weight bearing exercises for osteoporosis and whether they increase bone density. The studies draw some very important lessons.

I was searching today to make sure exercises that I am doing are good for bone density and beside walking dancing I also searched if house work is good too. I found this: And yes, household chores also qualify as weight-bearing exercises. Dusting, sweeping and vacuuming can help your bones, and the added bonus is a clean house!😄😄😄😄😄

As a 74 year old who was diagnosed with osteoporosis at least six years ago, I find this study to be an encouraging way to build back bone. However, for anyone already having symptoms of osteoarthritis, one of the suggestions is to lose weight to take the stress off the joints. My question is whether adding weights while doing aerobic exercise is adding stress to the joints and adding to the wear and tear on the cartilage?

OK but if you have bad knee arthritis, jumps add impact to knees which is bad. What to do?

Looking at my comment, I didn't mean build backbone, but I meant to re-build bone.
