My notes:
2-3 weeks deficit
1-2 weeks maintenance
Go to maintenance right before period for 10 days
4 weeks to adapt to stimulus
Your maintenance will be higher and more sustainable
Ends with a faster metabolism
Common mistakes
How long? Every 3-4 months go back to maintenance for a month
Don't increase exercise during maintenance
Maintenance should be decreased only after you lose 50 pounds
Dont be afraid of weight gain
You won't gain fat

I feel like I’ve been lied to by being told that I need to eat 1500 calories a day every single day and exercise and I’ll lose weight. I’ve been learning the science behind losing weight and gaining muscle and things related yet I’ve never heard anything about this, if I had maybe I would already be at a healthy weight but I’m still stuck. Thank you for being someone to tell the truth

Wow this explains a lot. I started portion control last year, but around my menstrual cycle I would always give into my cravings and end up binge eating. But I would always go back to my diet after my period ended. And then repeat the whole process again every month 😂. I was confused how I managed to lose 15 pounds like this, but now I understand 🤯

This is how I have lost 12 stone! It is called metabolic confusion you trick your metabolism from going into starvation mode or slowing down. I wish more people would talk about the actual science.

I watch so many fitness YouTubers that promise a "scientific" approach to fitness. How the hell none of those has mentioned this ever!!!! I feel so betrayed!!!! There's nothing I fear more than metabolic damage.

Coming from the girl who dieted her metabolism to oblivion, I wish I understood this before I spent MONTHS eating keto less than 1200kcals a day and training 6x a week to end up with a worse body composition.

I've tried this and "succeeded" but here are my notes:
1.) I lost 15 pounds over 6 months (from 160lbs - 145 lbs) and after hitting 145 I've been eating whatever I want as of late (like 9 months) and have kept the weight off with no issue. Switching from maintenance to deficit makes a WORLD of difference.
2.) the main issue with what I did was that I didn't strength train or eat protein, so some of the weight that I lost was coming out of my muscle mass. (I feel like my stomach almost got bigger). In order to lose fat I have to actually strength train in a calorie deficit.
3.) Definitely reverse diet before this cause it's so much easier going from 1700 to 2200 instead of only eating 1200.
4.) I'm going to try and lose the remaining 15 pounds with a combination of the Matador diet and strength training and will update y'all when I'm done!

Started my journey in April. Been steadily losing since then. I take breaks when I want to. Eat foods that are both nutritious and palatable because I cook them that way. I'm in LOVE with the process. Exercise is such great therapy. My body feels great. My mind feels even better. I still have a while to go until I reach my goal, but I'm okay with that. The journey is one of a lifetime. And considering I've been overweight for over 15 years, releasing the weight in a matter of 10 months to a year is so much faster in comparison.
