Oh my your such an inspiration! I’m 58 and post menopause (along with a very stressful time in my life) has added up to a 50 pound weight gain. I was so depressed about it. I am 78 and I have been using the exercise trampoline for 4 years now, , , I DON'T JUMP, ,I bounce to the beat of the music, , ( I have the I Google and ask her to play Donna Sommers music) and bounce to 3 songs..I’ve always loved to dance so this is a perfect exercise for me..It is approx 10 minutes daily.. The movement of fluid in the body is extremely important, especially the lymphatic system..I also go to the pool and do 40-45 minutes of laps and leg exercises..I am also a Pescatarian…..From 70-76 was vegan but started fish last year…"So far so good"😁🤞🏼

I'm 76. I eat keto - ketovore, mostly animal proteins and fats, IF lunch and dinner only, rarely snack. Essentially free of sugars, starches, grains, seed oils, and alcohol with minimal fruit. I jogged 5 hilly miles this morning followed by a 30 min home workout. I dont have a channel or preach my lifestyle, just live it joyfully, and people who need encouragement and information "find" me. God bless all the senior ladies who have so much talent, wisdom, and love to share with the world... may we all live long and live well ❤️🙏❤️

I am 55 years old and I have been skinny all my life. But now it seems like I am just gaining even though I am not living a sedentary lifestyle. I am also going through a stressful time in my life and I am sure it is fighting against me losing the weight. I so very much appreciate your video. I am going to implement your wisdom and see if I can get rid of this unnecessary baggage like I am getting rid of my narcissistic husband. :)

I totally agree with you on this. As much as I don’t like doing upper body weights I do them three times a week for half an hour. I walk 3 miles a day weather permitted in Massachusetts with Otis. I have yogurt and grape-nuts with fruit and flaxseed it’s really gets me going after my walk.. I cannot eat before I walk totally impossible for me so my breakfast is my brunch then I’ll have some fruit and then I’ll have some salmon and vegetables or a nice big salad with tuna or chicken.. I hate the gym I love walking and I do manage to walk in the winter though not as often.. have a blessed day Sandra and as always thanks for your great videos.

Thank you Sandra for the inspiration I have needed to get back to eating well! Recently I lost my best friend & companion. Freddy my 17 year old yorkipoo. It has put me into such s depression. In the last five years I have suffered many losses, which include my husband who was only 59. I slowly lost interest in everything as one thing after another, one death after another happened and with each I felt I was being chipped away. So I didn't care about what I ate, or did. I too am a pescetarian, but during this time I grabbed what was convenient which included lots of carbs. I stopped leaving the house and Freddy was the final blow. I knew I needed help and have found a wonderful therapist. Now I need motivation to start eating well again. I know the strain you have been under and I said to myself Sandra has not let this defeat her & I am going to survive this as well. I believe this comment to be a letter to all who have felt like life has kicked them around the block, and we are many. It's not just this post about your eating habits, but all you have shared with us, that inspires us to dust ourselves off and keep looking forward with grace & dignity. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for just being you!

Yes! As a physical therapist many of my clients don’t eat enough protein AND everyone thinks they need to just do light weights. That’s not true. Newest research shows we need to increase weight training and use heavier weights, but have longer rests between sets of repetitions. You can build muscle at any age.
Balance training and making certain you can get up and down off the floor without holding on to anything is crucial as well. ❤️

I really needed this to get myself back! 6 years ago I became a certified Whole Foods health coach for my own education and my family. All you are saying is true. Right before Covid I was in the best shape of my life now I have over 20 lbs to lose. I will come back here to keep you posted. I’m going to get the book tonight!😘❤️💯

Addendum: sandra, I'm in my 60s now. Life was hard. But you know? I love your videos because it reminds me to let go of everything else and start taking care of myself. I don't think I've ever really done that. There's always someone else or something else to take care of. I'm going to get back to where I was when I was 27 years old. I was a trim size 8. And I loved life. You are so inspiring.

I changed my diet in March just like u r suggesting. I have dropped 40 lbs. by July 10. I wish I knew this years ago. I feel so much better! I don’t feel like I am giving up anything. I will never stop eating this way. Great advice.

This is a great topic Sandra and thank you for sharing your weight loss advice! It's important for us over 60 ladies (I'm 66) to talk about how we maintain our strength and good health as we age. I've been doing a series about weight loss and belly fat on my channel, and I've learned there is a need for this info. By combining intermittent fasting w/ a diet of nutritious whole foods and a little strength training, I've managed to lose the belly fat that has plagued me my whole life. I recently discussed why squats are the most important exercise for seniors! Silver Sneakers here on YT is a great resource for strength training and I also like Autumn Bates' channel for intermittent fasting done in a sensible, healthy way.
