Edge is no longer a browser, its a whole operating system at this point.

Personally I really like edge but wish it wasn't so bloated with features I will never use, I wish it felt like a neutral browser because every time I use it it reminds me that I am using a Microsoft product rather than just another browser.
I personally like chrome and Firefox more for that reason because it feels and looks simpler, but anyway that's just my opinion

At this point I think Edge is better and has much more features.

Edge is very nice for laptops, it's saving battery . But yeah i've felt that some websites is loading slower on edge , and these benchmarks shows it .

i use edge for lots of productivity tools built in it, immersive reader, side panel, new bing chat, webselect, webcapture, markup tool, bookmark show only icon, vertical tabs, pin tabs, collections, edge and bing homepage, soothing

i dont know how many are there in chrome, but i wanted some of them while using chrome and chrome took so much ram, so i shifted to edge, it is using comparingly less ram and providing all these features.

Thank you for your testing! This is really helpful!

I really didn't like the UI/UX of Chrome and found Edgs's UI/UX very pleasant for me.

I do find Edge can be a bit slower sometimes. But it's tolerable for me given its far better UI/UX experience compared to Chrome.

Bing's search was incomparable to Google, but now with OpenAI, I am planning to fully transfer to Edge.

Update after two days of Edge:
Changed back to Chrome because Edge crashed and it was less reactive than Chrome.
My PC is low-end. So, I guess I need a better PC for Edge. Have to go back to Chrome for the speed.

Thank you so much for taking the time to compile all the valuable information for us. I sincerely appreciate your efforts and would like to extend my deepest gratitude to you. I also wanted to touch upon the topic of RAM usage in web browsers. Firstly, it's important to note that these days, RAM is rarely a concern for most users, as a majority of us have 16GB or more, and modern RAM technology is capable of efficiently handling heavy workloads. Don't you agree?
Secondly, I've personally noticed a reduction in RAM usage after the latest update of Chrome on my M1 Mac. Additionally, I've found that Chrome performs a bit faster overall, and in my experience, it operates more smoothly compared to Edge. It's worth mentioning that I have been using Microsoft Edge for a solid two years now, following many years of using Firefox. While I still hold a fondness for Firefox, I couldn't help but notice a decline in its performance. Although I haven't come across anything quite like the unique Multi-Account Containers extension that Firefox offers, it's worth noting that both Chrome and Edge allow you to have multiple profiles, which is a feature Firefox lacks.
I completely understand the dilemma between Edge and Chrome. It's true that both Microsoft and Google gather user data, placing us, the users, in the middle. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do about this reality. Nevertheless, it's important to acknowledge that these two browsers are considered the top contenders in the market. Despite the data collection aspect, they offer a wide range of features and capabilities that make them stand out from other alternatives. So, while it's crucial to be mindful of our privacy, we can't deny that Edge and Chrome currently hold the top positions in the browser landscape.
I completely relate to your experience of being captivated by the performance of Edge, which has made it difficult to switch back to Firefox. Currently, I've been exploring Chrome since the start of 2023, and I must say, it has pleasantly surprised me. Chrome has emerged as a dark horse, showcasing outstanding performance that draws you in. Its capabilities are truly commendable.
Once again, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for creating this excellent video. It has provided valuable insights and information that have further enhanced our understanding of the ongoing browser competition. Thank you for your dedication and for sharing this content with us.

Good video! Hope the YouTube algorithm starts to pick up on you.

Suggestion… next to you compare browsers you should do a massive test. Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Brave since their pretty popular now.

Pretty much neck and neck. Really is no point in downloading a 3rd party browser for the average user just to shave a few tenths of a second in loading time. Edge has some neat features such as vertical tabs, webshot & pdf rich tools, mainly the annotation feature.
Great video, straight to the point.

Loading dynamic websites can be a bit tricky when doing benchmarks. Cause the same data might not be loaded for both browsers even though it is the same website since the content is generated using analytics data for each browser and depending on what you have done in the past on one browser versus the other, it can skew the results. Something as simple as being logged in on one but not on the other can cause more data to be downloaded on the same browser.

Did you use both browers in their most performance optimized settings configured?

No big difference in performance but I don't like edge mobile UI. Need to sync browser history and saved password. So I use chrome for my PC browser.

This video enhances my intentions to stick with Microsoft Edge. Get me not wrong, Google Chrome is still good, but Microsoft Edge is the best.
