I'm a old boy of 60. Have used just about every browser that ever came out, starting with Voyager, iBrowse and AWeb on the Amiga. The browser I feel most comfortable with and always return to is Firefox. I have a few extensions/addons and I can honestly say I love it. I use a laptop with an i710870h, 32GB of memory and 3060 GPU.

Stop calling Firefox's and Safari's engines proprietary because they're not. Also, Chromium-based browsers aren't a privacy concern, but more of a control concern because Google would be able to control which technologies get added into Chromium (like the removal of ad blockers)

I use Edge as much as possible now. I had moved to Chrome from Firefox almost as soon as it was realised. But performance issues at work meant I had to try Edge to resolve. It had greatly improved both in performance and functions since I had last tried it and so made the switch. Then recently the addition of Bing Co-Pilot within the browser is just next level. I'm frequently surprised how not many people are talking about it. Honestly browsing the internet without it feels backwards nowadays.

I always have all browsers installed "just in case" 😅. The only thing I am sad with, is that Firefox has no multichannel audio support on streamings while the other chrome engine based browsers do work fine. Second drawback with Firefox is the lack of hdr support on YouTube. Again, with chrome based browsers it works and I do see a clear difference.

Safari and Firefox engines are not propietary, neither does Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc. WebKit (Safari), Gecko (Firefox, LibreWolf) and lastly Chromium / Blink (Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc) are all free and open source engines and proyects, the only difference from all of them is the way they license their products due WebKit and Chromium / Blink being licensed by a BSD license (permissive license, you can do modifications and turn your product into propietary if you want just like Safari and Chrome or not like Brave) while Gecko is licensed by the MPL license (not restrictive as the GPL and neither too permissive like BSD)

YES! Made the Brave switch several years ago and haven't looked back. Just have to remermber to occasionally turn off the ad blocker for some pages that don't respond properly. However, the problem pages have gotten fewer and fewer.

I use Brave for Windows and Safari on my Apple devices. Pretty satisfied.

Chrome, Edge, and Opera are all privacy nightmares (no matter what Opera says), so I will likely never use them. I do like Firefox and Brave though

chromium browsers are not a problem because it is open source you can see all the source code therefore i think brave is the browser to go

Tbh, i only use chrome because most of my friends use it and i heard theyre going to remove ad blockers. So if the current ad blocker im using stops working, then im gonna have to switch browsers

Seems you really can't go wrong with any browser nowadays. Well perhaps beside Opera, I used to use them and I love the features but I'm wary of anything Chinese.

I care more about speed and features than the privacy. They'll get our data either way and as long as I get related ads due to it it's better for me

I’ve never had opera “freeze a webpage” ever. I don’t think I’ve had any browser do that to me since I was a teenager going to sketchy websites in fact. What are you up to?

I use the Arc Browser. I think it’s the best out of all because it’s simple, you can customize everything and is not as boring as the basic browsers

After using the Chrome, Safari and Edge I can confidently say that Edge is the fastest browser with less stress on the computer. Even faster than Safari.

Chrome has started crashing my windows recently.
Although I am able to use other browsers such as edge and chrome canary.
Do you think it's the browser issue or my laptop is at fault?

Edge for me. Just great for work and other amazing perks.

Only issue is no privacy, and your data will be excessively sold. Even ads in your folder section.

Just because Firefox and Safari aren't chromium based dosen't mean they have a lot of compatibility. Every time I install Firefox it is always asking me to install extra codecs to play a youtube video.

Edge is my daily driver, and in my opinion totally underrated. I am amazed about how many people are oblivious to it or simply choose to ignore it.
