When I got back into running, a physiotherapist told me I should start running and do nose breathing...I thought he was crazy but I've regained my youth endurance, and my speed actually increases, I'm rarely out of breath even on my fast tempos or intervals. Great video!

I usually have one nostril thats irritated/closed so before i do any type of workout i brush my teeth and also the roof of my mouth. That helps clear my sinus' for the much needed nose breathing.

What a great idea the nose breathing workout is! I've been incorporating this breathing into my runs, which has helped my heartrate, but a ladder workout sounds like a great way to improve the technique!

This took a while for me to do "sufficiently"
I will never be a world beater, I had just come back to running after serious illness, but couldn't get improvement, this technique has seen me drop below 30 min for 5k, I am a late 50s, I don't want to over do it so could push myself more but don't need to, this has made running easier I was at 165 BPM now running at 145 ish BPM my 2 miles have dropped from 22min to 19:30 and its "easy" and enjoyable thanks for this tip getting the breathing rhythm has helped a lot, also I now, sleep better as I nose breathe at night more.

It took about 5 years for me. I use a Netti pot daily. It’s a yoga thing where you run water through your nostrils. Breathing through your nose for exercise is the best, however, particularly after using the Netti pot there can be a bit of nose mucus to get rid of, particularly when you begin your run. This is fine when running solo. But a bit awkward when running in a group.

Great Video Nate . If I could add a little something for those of us that go out early and still have a little nasal congestion. Dip a Q-Tip swab in a little Vicks Vapor Rub and gently swab around nasal cavity. It really opens up air ways and a little trick for nose breathing is sticking your tongue to the root of your mouth . You guys TRE alway have great resources Thanx !!!
