My hip pain is the worst when I sleep on it overnight. Wakes me up and is very difficult to move my leg. During the day it loosens up with very little pain. Odd.

I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and that makes it super hard to find the cause of my pain. These videos are helpful to rule out some causes.

Thank you for the advice and always great information ... Please note that the last few videos including this one, the sound is not loud enough. I hope you can fix it in the next ones.

I think I have what you described, I have had it for about 4 years now. I think it happened cutting firewood, I would kick the logs after I cut them and that tore something. Feels like I tore a part of muscle and now have entrapped nerve from psoas area. Its almost like sciatica that radiates upward making me feel uncomfortable lumbar pain.

My hip makes this clunk noise and I feel it. I do glute med/ max exercises often and this hip issue never really goes away. Of course running makes it even worse.

I’m so confused. I’ve self diagnosed myself with so many different problems (hip impingement, muscle tears, adductor and iliopsoas tears clicking hip syndrome) by watching pt videos. Now I think the pain could be coming from tendinitis which I hope it is. Better than needing a hip replacement. Looking for treatment videos now. Stretching killed me and made pain much worse.

Any thoughts if the pain is in the area described, but more constant especially upon waking-up, and not (seemingly) related to movement?

For example, from what I've seen pain between the groin and left-thigh (but not on the side/hip area), is often diagnosed as Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome / trochanteric bursitis . However, for older adults, it can also be iliopsoas bursitis, meralgia paresthetica, Thigh bone infection (osteomyelitis), or even tendonitis or muscle damage (Pectineus, Psoas, etc). To complicate matters, there may be an underlying (kidney?) infection or swollen lymp / inguinal nodes as the root cause, in which case antibiotics may help.

I even saw some videos that suggest stretching should NOT be done, and instead advocate ice, anti-inflammatory, sleeping on the 'good' side with a pillow between the legs, and Prolotherapy and/or prp (platelet rich plasma) therapy!
