Yeah, my Mother had a stress fracture in her hip and she had pain that she described as a stabbing at the top of her butt cheek. It took her a year to finally get the right diagnosis because the doctor kept telling her that it couldn’t be her hip if it was in her butt. She kept trying to keep up her running routine and would end up in so much pain.

You can also easily determine if you have arthritis of the hip by having an x-ray or an ultrasound done.

I was told three years ago that my hip was arthritic but I've continued running regularly. I get pain around upper groin area lying on my hip at night time. Only discomfort from the 5 tests is with abduction where my hip clicks and I get pain in glute. Range of movement seems fine on all 5. Any suggestions?
