Went 6 years thinking I was the biggest sissy ever with mild hip arthritis. Treated like a drug seeker, worthless arthroscopic it started going down my leg and I even knew then it was my back. Grade 3 spondylolisthesis yes after a major surgery all is well.

I like how it says when to see a doctor about chronic hip pain and don't touch even an eyelash's hair length of the subject.

LOL I've been in pain for 3 years, I've spent thousands of dollars in copays, seeing numerous "top-recommended" hip doctors. The pain is completely debilitating at this point. You'd think that such slow-progressing pain would be preventable. If only doctors in St. Louis actually listened to what their patients said.

I haven't been able to walk right since March 8th 2019 and I was told I didn't need surgery but I can't sleep because I be in so much pain, it's so severe, it has me in tears every morning every night . I can't walk to my mailbox, or get in the shower on my own, or walk to the store, I'm confined to my home. The orthopedic surgeon told me I didn't need surgery, and he also told me I need to go to physical therapy and get pain injections and go to pain management, it's not working, because after I leave there physical therapy, I want to die, because I be in so much pain, and I won't do pain meds. I have osteoporosis arthritis

Was in the military 14 years, injured one hip at 19 years old. The VA says my MRI looked normal. Here’s physical therapy and ibuprofen. 12 years later having hip problems daily. Walking a lot, standing for long periods, carrying heavy things, steps, moving different ways, and walking uphill causes a lot of pain and have to drag my leg. The latest MRI from the VA says “normal” and suddenly the MRI on my lower back shows “normal” but five years ago it showed degenerated discs and arthritis in the lower back. Idk what to do anymore.

I had both replaced in 2012. I developed osteo necrosis and went almost too long before I finally got insurance in place and then got in to see a surgeon. It had gotten bad and the ball was beginning to become misshapen and would have begun to crumble before much longer. My range of motion on the worst side was practically at zero. Don't put off getting a new hip. Its wonderful and it doesn't take very long to heal and be back to a normal life!

Thank you, succinct and right to the point. Now...I'm a (soon to be 68 year old male) I have various arthritic conditions mixed with bone deterioration, et. The doctors, at Mayo, said very confidentaly that both my hips were shot (last January.) My reaction was: "Great, when do we start?" Both the back surgeon (yes those are shot as well) and the hip surgeon recommended the same approach: Wait until you have pain/problems that are specific to the area (i.e. hips) and radiate to another area of the body (i.e. the groin, calve, etc from the main nerve. Fast forward about ten months and suddenly my groin area is having the time of its life (without consulting me.) The pain comes on dramatically and with no notice, it has almost resulted in my falling while walking on a flat surface in the ariport. I relish receiving opionons (educated preferred) of what to do. I've scheduled another appt with the Mayo hip surgeon, I've had my personal doctor check for blood clots and hernias (using scans) and right now it's narrowing down to the old "Jungle Jed" waddle and pain. i'm sorry this is so long but I do have a question: IF any reader can identify with this mess and has success story/recommendation I'm open. I KNOW there are MANY practical and experimental opportunities floating around....just do not know the source. Lastly, I can tollerate my pain (I have had chronic pain relative to both shoulders (both rotators fixed...one l5/s1severe pain ....bursitis in both hips and recurring knee pain on right calf. I'm NO WARRIOR or one of the man men/women/children who have been blessed with physical challenges that cause us pain. BTW....I WAS a hell of an athlete in my day: Participated in sports up to: State Basketball tourn, State Football tourny, State Softball Tourny, State Volleyball Tourney (Power league) and went undefeated. I also ran a marathon 1988 and won the highest metal of p.t. fitness in the army with a perfect score: 500. I what a big deal he thinks he is. Sorry, quite the opposite. At one time I was the picture of what a perfect athelete should look few years later I'm surrounded and attacked by pain. To all the rest of you who suffere through this at ANY have my hopes, my love and my prayers. TRY TO STAY STRONG! Love, Tom

Movement is the best medicine that you can do for yourself. People saved them self from surgeries doing proper exercises and changing mindset. I had terrible hip pain that I couldnt walk. My left hip is very different from right one, and muscles compensate with external rotation. So after doing lots of gym I couldnt walk of pain and pinched nerve. Today I feel better then ever because I started to study about it and followed the program that is my job today. I helped already so much people with cronic pains.

This is the only video that explains the pain and problem correctly. I live in south africa so the doctors are just gonna insert screws not the full ball and and joint replacement.

For some 20 years I've complained about hip pain only to be told it's radiating from my back, yes, they did an x-ray, yes I was referred to specialists, yes I tried different doctors, yes, I kept asking, I couldn't sit or stand for any length of time, this started with a car accident in 1994!
Five years ago I was sent for an MRI when I was being assessed for disability and guess what? I have a full thickness tear of the glutinous minimums! ....He asked how?... I said I've had it since a car accident in '94!... He said that'd be very painful!... I said yes, I can't sit or stand for very long and can't lay on it!... He said they are classic
I'm told there's nothing can be done, if found earlier it could have been reattached to the bone, but it's too late after all these years!
Meanwhile I'll forever have chronic pain, difficulties in sitting or standing for any length of time and as I've aged, now 67, finding my walking is affected! Moral of the story, don't trust the specialists when they tell you "it's not in your hip, it's pain radiating from your back!"or that it's in your head I.e., "it may seem that way!" Especially when you DO feel it in your hip and CAN'T lay on it or DO wake up at night because you've rolled over on to it. "Classic Symptoms" trained specialists ignored!

I am 27, I have terrible hip pain and one of my hips is rotated... I got in a dirt bike wreck when I was 17 that lightly fractured my pelvis and I hit my hips very hard... have had intense hip pain ever since and my left hip bone sticks out way farther than my right and my left hip goes out and I can barely walk.
Today is one of those days... hence why I'm here. Will doctors take my pain seriously I'm worried because of my age they wont take it serious
