I've been cycling most days for several years. Last year I decided to try a gym workout for my ongoing back pain, and recently I installed a swim spa, which I absolutely love, and I exercise at least twice daily in the water. It's only the last few months I've had moderate to severe hip pain which can keep me awake all night, but I didn't relate this to increase in exercise routine. So now I will be following advice to try to reduce my symptoms. Thank you again.

I've been having the pains as described for a number of years. This is the first grouping of information that has made sense. Going through all the videos in this grouping. Actually found this first on your website via a google search. Thanks Ali.

I walk a lot and quite active. Walked home from work on Friday and felt fine. It wasn't until later that evening that I started to get a pain in my outer right hip. I do confess, I was stationary at my desk pretty much throughout the day. Not sure if this is what I'm currently suffering from, but I get temporary pain relief from kneeling at the side of my bed.

I am 35 years old female with hip pain, in addition to other health conditions. It hurts when I lay down and walk (my hip bone, both sides). I was denied surgery for my back problems which I believe caused the hip injury to get worse. I was also denied ‘free and public to every Ontario citizen’ physiotherapy by a medical clinic in Mississauga, ON near Trillium Hospital because I live on $700 a month disability (Govt stole my shelter allowance) and cannot afford $200 a month for basic private insurance. It’s supposed to be public care in Canada but I only get some prescriptions covered.

Thank You so much for the explanations of why I have other areas that pain me because of my Hip. I will be getting a Hip Replacement this coming September 2023 and I sure hope this will ease the pain in areas of my back due to Osteoarthritis, and a crooked spine.

thanks very much for this series. i've had bursitis for over a decade, steroid injections are the only thing that helps me enough to be able to sleep. i did physical therapy for 6 months it helped a lot but as soon as I stopped I started getting shooting pains in the butt! i thought it was the bursitis so I went back for another injection but it didn't help! now I'm thinking it's piriformis or gtps or maybe something to do with my lumbar spine - it's so hard to figure out so thank you for the education! getting old stinks but it's better than the alternative!

I go the pain... one year in after I stopped exercise. So it was immobility that brought it on, not being active.

Greater Trocanta!!! I have every single one of these symptoms you described. I am a 73-year-old female in good health. Up until about a year ago I could walk 2-3 miles No problem. But now, I have pain on the outside of my thigh past my knee to my ankle, down my butt and in my groin. Walking is so painful, especially uphill. I’ve had to stop walking. 😢When I get up from a sitting position, I am crippled over for the first few steps. As far as I know from my last x-rays, I don’t have arthritis in my hips. So this is exactly what I have. I don’t imagine surgery will take care of the problems, so what does one do?

My pain is in my back and worse right over the left hipbone. Sitting is a nightmare. It does not feel like sciatica. It does radiate to my leg making me limp. Soooo painful.

Xray says swelling in anterio lateral aspect of proximal thigh and pain in hip and femur. What could be the issue?
