This hits me so hard. I got injured in the military Almost 8 years ago. I turned to power lifting to strengthen my muscles thinking it would do the same. This of course made everything stiff. I had to leave the military and become an occupational therapist to figure out how to fix my body because everybody I went to seemed not to care. I love that your injury has resulted in the education of so many others. Good shit you two 👏

This could be one of the best videos I have seen on YouTube re: shoulder issues. The helplessness and depression stage is where I am now. This couldn't have been more timely. Thank you both.

For anyone considering getting surgery I had one after many repeated dislocations I can't even keep count on my left shoulder from surfing. After a couple years it got really bad so I got surgery, and then maybe less than a year I dislocated it again. Maybe I didn't rehab or wait as long as I should've before I went back into sports, but the surgery in a way make me feel better and confident. If you do opt for surgery just know It can happen again so I recommend you do these exercises to maximize shoulder strength and mobility. 15 years later with a bad left shoulder, I now managed to dislocate my right shoulder snowboarding. I know have 2 dislocated shoulders and feel down knowing I'm limited doing the things I love to do surfing, snowboarding, or anything with my arms. I am now on my journey to change my lifestyle for the better and take this as a challenge to overcome and one day help anyone feeling down and out with this injury. I have a daughter and another on the way so I need to be a strong dad, role model and show her never to give up. Good luck to you all in this journey!

I can’t believe you ever had shoulder problems from watching you move and be in all these crazy positions. It’s so inspiring.

I know this video is not "intended to be a substitute for professional advice" but I personally found this video far more helpful that my professional advice from doctors that caused me to never improve.

Man this changed my life. I've been struggling with a "theoretical labrum tear". Theoretical cause its been hard to diagnose and not worth doing and exploratory surgery but my strength in range of motion was limited for things like overhead press and any type of throwing. After the FIRST session of doing the different plane of rotation exercises you demonstrated I could feel increased stability. And now I do it every day and it gets better and better. THANK YOU

The story of going from "authorities" to taking things into your own hands, being a scientist of your own body, is so essential to a true path to health. Doesn't matter what you're trying to improve, mental or physical, you'll be running in circles doing "exercises" until you listen to your own body and let go of expecting to be given answers.

Dislocated my shoulder exactly a week ago. Ortho follow up is a several week’s wait. With this video, I’m determined to be somewhat healed by time the appointment rolls around. Thanks!!

All I have to say is thank you. I did one stretch after realizing my neck and trap muscle tightness was stemmed from my shoulder. I remember feeling like i couldnt even move my shoulder about three years ago in the car and since then and hitting the weight room for three years i have been in so much pain, so much to the point i became numb to it. I went to many pts, doctors, and massage places and nothing worked at all, let alone even diagnosed it. I figured it out today where it all is stemming from and i tried one stretch without a band”just pretending there is one” and it was amazing. My voice literally dropped two octaves afterwards. I havent even finished the video yet but I had to just say thank you. Hopefully i can finally get this under control since I literally just found out about it.

This video is a treasure
I dislocated my left shoulder more than a year ago
I had the same problems of it constantly popping out
I found your video months after the ordeal and after constant doctor appointments, surgery being suggested as the only option — I followed your exercises and safe to say it feels like i never dislocated it all

Thank you 🙏

Thank you for posting this video. Last night I just dislocated my shoulder for the fifth time and I'm feeling pretty hopeless. After watching this video it helps give me a sense of hope that one day I can have a normal shoulder as well.

I dislocated in high school playing basketball at age 14.. I am 29 now and still dislocating though I still play active basketball and work as a truck driver. Life is just so challenging with this problem and sometimes I feel I will die at a tender age because of this issue. Both shoulders are no good but I’m still living life. I’m so thankful for this video.. finally, I can strengthen them back again.

Just hit my fourth dislocation on my left side. This is great timing. Like you I’ve realised everything I’ve done before was a waste of time or not effective, glad I’ve got the holidays to recover a little and start this new path in the New Year. Thanks dude.

I dislocated mine at the age of 42. Mountain biking. Also fractured the top of the humerus. Fortunately, years of weight lifting and zero mobility work or stretching actually put me in good stead as it solid now and have no issues.

Popped mine back in 3 times, last time 5 years ago. No surgery. Can now do 1 pull-up or 3-4 chin-ups. LOVE the twisting band exercise. Will definitely give that a go. I'm at the handstand against a wall stage and 1 set of 5-10 bridges. I'm also 46; never give up.

I had frozen shoulder for years and it hinder me from doing a lot of basic daily activities. The sports trainers at the local college where I was coaching football were not helpful at all. They told me that I would need to see a doctor because it was so bad. I did not want surgery so I completely avoided the doctor and by chance I helped myself and made big improvements in my mobility and strength by doing some unconventional exercises. I am not an expert and it was all by chance that I was able to make so much progress on my own. I can completely relate to your experiences. Thanks for sharing your story. I look forward to implementing all of your suggestions. I appreciate how much information your are providing. Btw, there is no way I can do the crab walk and especially the bridge right now, but hopefully by implementing the initial exercises, I will be to eventually get to that point. Thanks again! This is gold!

It’s almost scary how alike my own shoulder dislocation story is to yours. From the same time frame and age to how long I’ve been dealing with it and dislocating in the simplest positions. Thanks for sharing your story AND all the exercises especially that first one! Parkour is my main sport/movement I enjoy and I’ve had to stop practicing until I figure out making my shoulder weakness
